<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Wristwatch with alarm clock The present patent relates to a wristwatch with alarm clock, characterized in that the alarm mechanism, including the striking barrel, but excluding the trigger device, is mounted between the last bridge of the clockwise movement frame and an additional bridge, attached to the last bridge, outside the clockwise movement.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a plan view; fig. 2 is a plan view of the movement on the dial side; fig. 3 is a sectional view, along line III-III, of FIG. 2; fig. 4 is a plan view of the movement, bottom side; fig. 5 is a sectional view, along line V-V, of FIG. 4.
The movement of the wristwatch shown comprises (FIG. 5) a clockwise movement, the frame of which is formed by a plate 10 and a bridge s / 4 plate 11. To simplify the drawing, only part of it has been shown. this movement, in particular the barrel 12 (fig. 5), the carriageway 13 (fig. 3), driving the minute minder 14 and the hour wheel 15, of which the barrel 16, carries the hour hand 17. L The minute hand is designated 18.
The winding and time setting of this watch take place in a conventional manner by means of a device comprising a crown 19, capable of occupying two axial positions, a pull tab 20, a lever 21, a slide 22 and a barrel return 23.
The barrel ratchet 24 is stopped by a spring-loaded pawl 25. On the barrel 16 is still mounted, with greasy friction, by means of a clips 61, a drum 26 provided with an hour turn 27, concentric to the annular dial 28.
The alarm time is set by means of a device which will be described in detail later and which makes it possible to bring into a bezel 29, which hand 17 presents, the various digits of the clock. turn of hours.
The movement also includes an additional bridge 30 fixed on the bridge 11, on the bottom side 31 of the case. The striking mechanism, consisting of the barrel 32, a toggle 33, a mobile 34, an escape wheel 35 and a hammer 36, which has a tail 60 passing under the wheel 35, are mounted between this additional bridge 30 and bridge 11.
The barrel 32 comprises a toothed plate 37 pivoted and centered on the end of the shaft of the barrel 12 and journaled in the bridge 30. The outer end of its spiral spring 39, the extension of which is limited by four pins 40, is attached to one of the latter and its inner end to the plug 41 of the plate 37. The winding of the spring 39 takes place by means of a wheel 42 screwed into the journal of the plate 37 and whose rod passes through the bottom 31 .
When reassembling the barrel 32, the teeth of the plate 37 disengage from the pinion of the return 33 which pivots against a spring, not shown. When the winding is interrupted, the pinion 33, acting as a pawl, resumes its place under the action of this spring.
The hammer 36 is normally blocked by the end of a rod 43, acting on the shank 60. This rod is secured to a lever 44 (FIG. 2), pivoting at 45 on the plate 10 and subjected to the action. a spring 46.

The triggering of the bell is caused by a pin 47 (FIG. 2) fixed in the mantle of the drum 26 and which meets, at a certain point in its trajectory, a spout 48 of the lever 44. The pivoting of this lever moves away the rod 43 of the tail 60 which releases the hammer 36.
The adjustment of the relative position of the drum 26 and of the hand 17, position which determines the striking time, is carried out by means of a crown 49 (fig. 3), wedged outside the bottom 31 of the ring. box on the end of an axis 50 crossing the bridge 11 and the plate 10.
On the upper end of this axis 50 is pivoted a rocker 51 subjected to the action of a spring 52, which applies it via a pin 53 against the rocker 21. This rocker 51 carries a wheel 54 , engaged with a pinion 55 wedged on the upper end of the rod 50. The wheel 54 is engaged or disengaged from the toothing of the drum 26 depending on whether the crown 19 occupies its position for setting the time of the watch or winding the barrel 12.
When crown 19 is in its time-setting position, it is possible to rotate either the hour circle 27 alone by means of the crown 49, the hour wheel 15 being blocked by the timer, or simultaneously the hour circle. hours 27 and hands 17 and 18 by means of crown 19.
The hour circle 27 is traced on a disc driven on the body of the drum 26 and angularly adjusted on the latter so that the pin 47 triggers the chime at the instant when the number 12 passes 12 o'clock on the dial 28. Under these conditions, the setting of the alarm time is effected simply by placing in the bezel 29, the number of the hour circle 27 corresponding to the desired alarm time.
In summary, to set the time (of the watch alone, of the alarm clock alone, or both), it suffices to pull the crown 19 into its external position, which puts in a kinematic relationship, on the one hand, this crown with the roadway 13 and, on the other hand, the crown 49 with the drum 26, and to act either on one of the crowns, or on both, as the case may be. If only the alarm clock needs to be set, only crown 49 will be acted on.
It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown. In particular, the rings 42 and 49 could be arranged elsewhere than in the bottom. In addition, the control member of the device for setting the time of the alarm clock could consist of a push button.
