Zur Erläuterung der Art und Weise, wie dies ge schehen kann, sollen zunächst die theoretischen Grundlagen abgeleitet werden, die für die Lösung der vorliegenden Aufgabe massgebend sind. Dabei werden folgende Bezeichnungen benutzt: R , = Radius der Walzen, 11;;

EMI0004.0007
Die Einstellung<I>a</I> stellt also die Grösse <I>Y</I> in der Differentialgleichung (2) dar.
I>B</I> - RÜ # <I>Y</I> darstellt.
I>B</I> # RÜ <I>.</I> Y2 darstellt.
(2) darstellt.
Win- kelgeschwindigkeit a,H.
Process and device for keeping the strip tension constant in strip rolling mills When rolling iron or metals into long strips, it is necessary to keep the rolling stock under constant tension on both the inlet and the outlet side of the rolls in order to achieve uniform quality.
To solve this problem, various proposals have already been made which bring about a regulation of constant strip tension not only when the rotational speeds of the rollers remain the same, but also when the rolling process is accelerated and decelerated.
Since no direct measuring methods are available for measuring the strip tension, all these solutions have in common that its size is determined indirectly from the torque of the reel or from the power of the driving motor, whereby it must be taken into account that the coil diameter of the reel is variable with the progress of rolling. At a constant belt speed, the motor power required for the take-up reel is constant regardless of the coil diameter.
Among the known solutions to the task of regulating a constant strip tension, some are based on the so-called constant current control of the armature circuit of the reel drive in conjunction with a field excitation proportional to the coil diameter. The collar diameter is determined, for example, from a speed comparison between the rollers and the take-up reel, the speed being measured by means of tachodynamics.
Another known solution of the same Re gelaufgabe is based on the control of the synchronization of the rollers and the reels, where with a constant current of the reel motor, an induced motor voltage is regulated that is proportional to the roller motor speed. Another proposal that has become known is based on the regulation of the motor power, which is also constant with constant belt tension and constant belt speed regardless of the coil diameter.
In order to be able to use this mentioned control device, which is initially only suitable for use at constant Bandgeschwindig speed, also for rolling processes with verän different band speed, one has a setpoint, z. B. the motor current, adjusted in the constant current control in such a way that the additional motor torque required, for example, to accelerate the masses is available. In known designs, however, such additional devices are tied to a specific acceleration or deceleration program.
But even with this restriction, it is not always possible to avoid control errors and thus unevenness in the strip tension, which is why long run-up times have been considered necessary, for example. In addition, the known devices do not yet take into account the fact that the moment of inertia of the wound reel is itself still variable with the size of the collar diameter.
In contrast, the invention provides for the task of performing a control on constant tape tension for any state of motion of the tape, i.e. also for any speed and without limiting assumptions for the acceleration or deceleration processes, using known methods of control technology the analogue calculation technique is used to carry out multiplications, divisions and to form time derivatives.
The invention relates to a method for keeping the strip tension constant in strip rolling mills, in which an electrical variable for influencing the torque exerted by the reel motor is automatically changed according to the respective coil diameter of the rolling speed, the acceleration and the deceleration.
The method consists in the fact that with a speed control of the roller motor according to predetermined setpoints, the mentioned electrical quantity is continuously used as a solution to a differential equation that determines the torque of the reel motor that determines the torque of the reel motor required for constant strip tension, taking into account the speed changes and speed changes of the moving masses electromechanical means for the analog representation of multiplications, divisions and time derivatives is formed.
The device according to the invention for the implementation of the. Method in a roller line, the rollers of which are driven by a direct current motor, whose armature and field current supplied by converters are controlled by separate controllers as a function of a common command variable which determines the motor speed, is characterized by that for the formation of the electrical size after.
Computing devices that work according to the principle of analogy and consist of potentiometers, rotary field encoders, Ferrari systems, transformers, amplifiers and auxiliary rectifiers are provided for the representation of multiplications, divisions and time derivations, whereby the determined electrical variable is converted into the torque of a DC reel motor, the one supplied by the converter Armature and field current are each regulated by a special controller according to predetermined setpoints, in such a way that, when the determined electrical.
Size on the field current, this size serves as a setpoint value for the current controller of the cross-connected converter for the field current, this current controller setting a magnetic field that is approximately proportional to the electrical variable and the aforementioned computing devices for displaying multiplications, divisions and to form the electrical variable temporal derivatives are used,
while other computing devices for the formation of the electrical quantity representing the actual magnetic field as the quotient of the electromotive force of the motor and the motor speed and still further computing devices for the formation of another electrical quantity by dividing the required torque representing the required torque by the electrical quantity representing the magnetic field which corresponds to the required value of the armature current and which serves as a setpoint specification for the controller for the armature current are provided.
A system of this type is shown schematically in FIG. 1, for example.
The armature 1 of the drive motor of the roller pair 2 is fed via a converter 3, while the field winding 1 a of the motor receives its current in alternating directions from two converters 4 in a cross connection.
The controllers 6 and 7 for field and armature converters are influenced by a tachometer dynamo 5, the voltage of which represents the actual value of the speed, and a setpoint voltage that can be set using the control lever 8, so that any speed can be specified with the control lever. to which the motor 1 adjusts itself immediately.
The take-up reel 17 is driven by a motor, the armature 9 of which is fed by the converter 10 and the field winding 9.4 of the converters 11 in a cross connection. The armature and field currents are controlled by the controllers 12 and 13 according to predetermined setpoints.
A similarly regulated, not illustrated presented drive is provided for the payoff reel. The speed of movement of the tape running out of the rollers 2, which does not match the peripheral speed of the rollers, is determined with the aid of a pulley 18. Three with the rollers 2, the pulley 18 and the reel 17 coupled tachometer dynamos 14, 15 and 16 provide remote DC voltages that are proportional to the rotational speeds or angular speeds of these parts.
The setpoint specifications for the controllers 12 and 13 of the power converters of the reel motor are determined from these voltages and other variables set depending on the technical data of the system or variable with changes in the rolling speed.
To explain the way in which this can be done, the theoretical fundamentals should first be derived that are decisive for solving the problem at hand. The following terms are used: R, = radius of the rollers, 11 ;;
o = radius of the empty reel, RH = variable radius of the reel with wound tape, 11z = radius of the bearing journal of the reel, 11u. = Radius of the deflection roller, GHo = weight of the empty reel, GFr = variable weight of the reel with wound tape, 011 "= moment of inertia of the empty reel including motor armature, pH - variable moment of inertia of the reel including motor armature with wound tape, cow - angular velocity of the Rollers,
WH = angular speed of the reel, coU = angular speed of the deflection roller, b = belt width, y # specific weight of the belt, g = acceleration due to gravity, t = time, A = roller abrasion, d. H. Reduction of the roll radius by grinding after longer operating times, K = leading or lagging of the rolling stock, d. H.

The bearing friction moment can be expressed with sufficient accuracy as the sum of a constant part and a part corresponding to the average reel weight and a part corresponding to the strip tension - since it means only a relatively small correction variable!

becomes.
This results in the equation for the torque to be regulated for the reel motor:

For the continuous solution of the differential equation (2) an analogy computing device 27 is provided, which is composed of known means for the representation of multiplications, divisions and temporal derivatives by electrical quantities, this device further resulting from the data of the announcement Sizes are supplied, such as. is indicated by the arrow P.
In Fig. 2, an example of the implementation of the necessary arithmetic operations is shown schematically.
The chip now tachometer dynamo 14, which is proportional to the angular speed w \ y of the rollers, is fed to the potentiometer 19, while the voltage of the tachometer dynamo 15 which is proportional to the angular speed of the deflection roller is applied to the sliding contact of this potentiometer.
The difference between the voltage tapped at the sliding contact 19 ″ and the voltage of the tachometer dynamo 15 is fed via an amplifier 20 to a drive 21, which adjusts the sliding contact 19 ″ so that this voltage difference disappears. The setting of the sliding contact <B> 19, </B> achieved in this way is a measure of the size
EMI0003.0053
The sliding contact 22 ″ of the potentiometer 22 is adjusted accordingly.
Since this potentiometer is also fed by the tachometer dynamo 14, the voltage tapped at its sliding contact 22 ″ represents a measure of the value cow - Z.
The voltage tapped at the sliding contact 23y of the potentiometer 23 is connected in opposition to this voltage. The potentiometer 23 is due to the voltage generated by the tachometer dynamo 16, so the angular speed of the reel proportional voltage. The difference between the voltages tapped at the sliding contacts 22 and 23 "is fed to the drive 25 via the United 24 stronger, which brings the sliding contact 23" into a position in which the voltage difference is adjusted to zero.
If, with this setting, the ratio of the voltage of the sliding contact 23 ″ to the voltage of the tachometer dynamo 16 is denoted by a, then a - o) n = (,) - Z and thus
EMI0004.0007
The setting <I> a </I> thus represents the quantity <I> Y </I> in the differential equation (2).
Has the potentiometer 23 according to a conventional design akreisför shaped resistance track and a rotatable arm around the center as a sliding contact, so accesses a voltage proportional to the angle a on the Po tentiometer with the corresponding position of the zero position of the sliding contact.
Five rotating field systems, also called inductive transmitters, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 37 are coupled to the shaft of the potentiometer 23 and are used in a known manner to represent multiplications or divisions by electrical quantities. Similar to the known electro-dynamic measuring instruments, these rotating field systems have a fixed and a rotatable coil, but the rotatable coil does not set a pointer, but is itself set in a certain position by external action.
If the stationary coil is supplied with an alternating voltage E, a voltage is induced in the rotatable coil which is proportional to the quantity E - sin a, where a means the angle of the coil position compared to the position in which the axes of the two coils are stand perpendicular to each other.
If the amount of the angle a is not too large, a, -: - sin a can be set with a good approximation. In the present case this means (since - as shown above - a = Y can be set):
If the rotating field system 26 is primarily supplied with an alternating voltage tapped at the potentiometer 62, which represents the variable B - RÜ known from the technical data of the system, then the rotating field system supplies a secondary voltage which expresses the expression B - Rü - a or <I > B </I> - RÜ # <I> Y </I> represents.
This voltage is now fed to the primary side of the rotating field system 27, which then supplies a secondary voltage that represents the expression <I> B </I> # RÜ <I>. </I> Y2. By forwarding this voltage to the rotating field system 28, its secondary voltage is a measure for the expression B.Rü.Ys.
An alternating voltage is set at the sliding contact of the potentiometer 29, which corresponds to the constant expression 011, - B - R xo [cf. G1. (2)] represents.
Because this voltage is in series with the input voltage of an amplifier 31 - on the rotatable coil of the rotating field system 30, the fixed coil of which is connected to the output side of the amplifier 31, this output voltage is related to the voltage tapped at the potentiometer 29 as 1:
EMI0004.0057
when V denotes the gain of amplifier 31.
If this is chosen to be sufficiently large, the said ratio is very close to 1: a and the total voltage (at the same time an input voltage for amplifier 32) is thus a measure for the expression
EMI0004.0059
The voltage amplified by the amplifier 32 is fed to a further rotating field system 33 which is coupled to the potentiometers 19 and 22, the angular position of which represents the variable Z according to what has been said earlier.
The output voltage of this rotating field system gives the expression
EMI0004.0063
This voltage is fed to an apparatus 34 which holds the reverse of a Ferraris motor, namely an electrically conductive disc or drum and two mutually perpendicular electromagnetic systems. If the disc or drum is at rest, the two systems are decoupled. But if the Ferraris disc rotates and one magnet system is connected to an alternating voltage, a voltage is induced in the other system which is proportional to the voltage of the first system and the angular speed of the rotation of the disc.
The Ferraris disc is coupled (via a suitable transmission gear) to the control lever 8 (FIG. 1) for the rolling motor, the position of the control lever being proportional to the speed of the rolling motor.
If the setting of the control lever 8 and there with the speed of the rolling motor changed, so ent is meanwhile in the secondary winding of the apparatus 34 a voltage which is proportional to the voltage in d'er primary winding and the speed of the speed change, so the printout
EMI0004.0072
represents. The condition for this is that the control lever 8 is only adjusted so quickly that the speed of the rolling motor can follow this adjustment without delay. It is therefore essential that the speed control of the rolling motor works at a high control speed.
In addition, it is advisable to use an adjusting motor or a similar union for adjusting the control lever 8. Provide drive, not shown, which allows only a maximum adjustment speed corresponding to the above condition.
An alternating voltage is also picked up at the potentiometer 36, which represents the expression Q # Ru in accordance with the desired belt tension and the known radius of the deflection roller. In the rotating field system 37, this variable is multiplied by Y in the manner described earlier, so that the output voltage of this rotating field system has the expression <I> Q </I> - Ru # <I> Y </I> from G1. (2) represents.
Finally, a voltage is set on the potentiometer 38, which corresponds to the constant C1. A voltage is added to this voltage by the transformer 39 which, if the gear ratio is suitably selected, represents the expression C2 # Q.
Furthermore, a further voltage which is present at the resistor 40 and represents the expression W # c) "can be added, which can be formed by known means not shown. This expression can, however, also be neglected because of its insignificance, or can be its mean value can also be recorded by the constant Cl.
The resulting voltage, which represents the opposite direction of rotation, is added to the output voltage of the rotating field system 37 and the output voltage of the apparatus 34, which is optionally amplified by an amplifier 35, via a rotation direction switch 41 of known type.
If the proportionality factors of all voltages are appropriately selected, the total voltage occurring at terminals 42 and 43 then represents the expression of equation (2), namely
EMI0005.0030
This voltage therefore gives a measure (setpoint) for the torque to be regulated for the reel motor, regardless of the grinding of the rolls and the respective infeed of the rolls or the resulting lead or lag of the rolled stock.
In a similar way, instead of a voltage, another electrical quantity, e.g. B. a current can be calculated as a representation of the torque of the reel motor to be maintained.
To convert this electrical variable into the torque of a reel motor, whose armature and field current supplied by a converter is regulated by a controller according to specified setpoints, this electrical variable can - if necessary with the help of a converter - the controller for the field current as a reference variable (setpoint ) are given in such a way that the field regulator sets a magnetic field that is approximately proportional to this variable, and that an electrical variable representing the actual magnetic field either directly (e.g.
B. with the help of a Hall generator) or as the ratio of the electric motor force (terminal voltage reduced by the internal voltage drop) to the speed, and that finally another electrical quantity by dividing the quantity representing the torque by the quantity representing the magnetic field is formed, which serves the armature current controller as a setpoint specification. In FIG. 1, the device used for this purpose, which is to be explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 3, is indicated at 45.
The AC voltage taken from the terminals 42 and 43 of an arrangement according to FIG. 2 is applied to the terminals 42 and 43 ″ (FIG. 2). This voltage is fed to a so-called discriminator 44 of a known type and is rectified therein in such a way that that the rectified voltage to be removed at terminals 44 "changes direction, depending on
whether the voltage supplied to terminals 42a and 43a is in phase or in phase opposition with an invariable comparison alternating voltage applied to terminals 44b.
The voltage taken from the terminals 44a serves as a reference variable (setpoint) for the controller 13 (Fig. 1).
The arrangement is expediently made in such a way that the field current to be regulated as a function of the reference variable is not proportional to this reference variable, but follows it according to a function that approximates the magnetization characteristic of the machine, so that the magnetic field of the motor approximately corresponds to the voltage the terminals 44 "is proportional both in the negative and in the positive sense.
To achieve such a dependency, the rectifiers of the discriminator can be used, for example, by dimensioning them so that the working area that is used is used. begins already in the vicinity of its voltage threshold value, so that the rectified voltage at low voltage values initially rises much more slowly than the alternating voltage supplied to terminals 42 ″ and 43a.
Instead, a special voltage converter can also be provided, in which a corresponding functional dependence of its output voltage on the input voltage is achieved. Such a converter can analogously be inserted both into the circuit of the electrical variable representing the setpoint and the actual value.
As is well known in a DC machine that in. If the torque transmitted by the air gap is equal to the product of the magnetic flux and the armature current, an electrical variable can then serve as an exact target value for the armature current controller if it represents the quotient of the torque and the magnetic flux in order to achieve a constant strip tension.
The magnetic flux 0 of the motor is - if it is not measured directly - proportional to the quotient of the electromotive force and the speed or angular speed a, H. The electromotive force can be represented as terminal voltage U reduced by the internal voltage drop, so that the relationship results
EMI0006.0003
where Ra is the armature resistance, 1a is the armature current of the motor and K1 is a constant of proportionality.
This equation fails when the engine is at a standstill, since it then yields the indefinite expression 0. It is therefore only used as a basis for an analogue calculation at finite, not too low speeds, while at low speeds the magnetic flux is assumed to be proportional to the excitation current.
In the further description of the arrangement according to FIG. 3, it is initially assumed that the order switches 45 and 46 are in the position shown. Through the tachometer dynamo 16 (v-l. Fig. 1) the potentiometer 51 is the angular speed of the reel motor proportional, in the straightening element 50 (z. B. a dry rectifier in a bridge circuit) direction-independent ge made direct voltage supplied.
At the resistor 47, part of the terminal voltage of the reel motor 9 is tapped. The resistor 48, in which a current proportional to the armature current flows, is connected in series with this voltage. With appropriate dimensioning of the resistors 47 and 48, the direct voltage fed to the directional element 49 and made independent of the direction therein is proportional to the electromotive force of the motor armature.
The difference between this voltage and the voltage tapped off at the sliding contact 51 ″ of the potentiometer 51 is fed via the amplifier 52 to the drive 53, which adjusts the sliding contact 51a so that this difference becomes zero. The setting angle of the potentiometer, which is to indicates the ratio of the tapped on the sliding contact to the full potentiometer voltage, with ss, so is
EMI0006.0027
With the shaft of the potentiometer 51, the rotating field system 54 is coupled.
With the help of this system and the amplifier 55, a zero adjustment takes place, in which the transformer 56 is fed to a voltage which, according to the explanation given earlier on pos. 29, 30 and 31 of FIG
EMI0006.0031
represents, so can serve as an exact setpoint specification for the armature current regulator 12 (Fig. 1).
At speeds close to zero, at which, as was said earlier, a comparison of the voltage of the armature 9 and the tachometer dynamo 16 is no longer useful, the switches 45 and 46 are switched automatically, including speed-dependent or voltage-dependent devices known ter Kind of serve. The constant voltage of a battery or other direct current source 59 is then applied to the potentiometer 51, to which the voltage drop in the resistor 60, which is made independent of direction in the directional element 61, is connected in the opposite direction. Resistor 60 is in the field circuit of the reel motor.
If the voltage drop in this resistor is assumed to be proportional to the magnetic flux, which is possible with sufficient accuracy with an unsaturated magnetic circuit, the sliding contact 51 is adjusted again such that its angular position represents a measure of the magnetic flux and the voltage at the terminals 58 can serve as a setpoint for the armature current control.
The described control of a reel motor is effective both for the unwinding and for the winding up of the rolling stock, unchanged and in the correct manner. For the automatic control of the strip tension on both sides of the rolls, a corresponding control arrangement must therefore be provided for each of the two reels.
In order for the described arrangement to work properly, it is necessary to coordinate the speed of change of the speed setpoint and the speed of calculation as well as the control speeds. The computing speed is expediently chosen equal to or greater than the control speed. As already mentioned, the setpoint value for the speed control should only take place at such a speed that the computing and regulating speed can follow without any significant lag.
In order to obtain high control lysis speeds, it is advisable to use power converter-fed drives which are controlled by tube or transistor regulators with high control speeds. However, the applicability of the invention is not limited to this type of power supply, particularly with regard to the rolling motor.
The electromechanical analogy computing device can easily be produced for sufficiently high computing speeds by keeping the moving masses low.
In principle, the invention is not tied to the example described, but some modifications are possible.
The size Z is only dependent on a change in the roll diameter (grinding) and on the infeed of the rolls, that is, on the lead or lag of the rolling stock. This variable therefore generally does not change during a work cycle. It is therefore also possible to dispense with the described automatic calculation of this variable and instead provide a corresponding fixed potentiometer setting which is changed by hand when the components forming the variable Z are changed, for example according to pre-calculated tables.
The necessary computing devices can be simplified, and the tachometer dynamo on the pulley is omitted.
The implementation of the variable determining the required torque into an actual torque of the reel motor can also happen in a different way than is shown in FIG. In principle, it is possible, for example, to keep the magnetic flux of the motor constant by means of a suitable control device, whereby the reaction of the armature current on the magnetic field can also be taken into account. The voltage supplied by the arrangement according to FIG. 2 can then directly - possibly after rectification by a discriminator - serve as a setpoint specification for the armature current, which in this case is proportional to the torque.
In order to enable a steady change in the armature current even when the direction of rotation is reversed, two converters in a cross connection are provided for the armature current in such a device, whereas only one converter is required for the supply of the field current. Furthermore, the Vorrichtun conditions for executing the various arithmetic operations can be designed differently than was described on the basis of the game.
For example, the measuring system of a normal, electrodynamic measuring instrument can be used to display a multiplication, the deflection of which is known to be proportional to the product of the current flowing in the two windings of the instrument. A potentiometer can be adjusted by the rotating system of the instrument in such a way that a voltage is tapped at its sliding contacts which is proportional to the deflection of the instrument.
To avoid friction errors, the setting of the potentiometer can be carried out with the help of an after-run control of a known type depending on the deflection of the instrument.
In a similar way, a cross-coil instrument, that is to say a so-called quotient meter, can be used for the analog execution of divisions.
Divisions and multiplications can also be carried out with so-called Hall generators, which are semiconductor wafers that show a particularly large drop effect.
For example, a tachometer dynamo coupled to the control lever 8 via a suitable gearbox can be used to form the differential quotient of the rolling motor speed, which supplies a voltage proportional to the adjustment speed, which for example is one of the coils of a multiplication in the described Way provided electrodynamic measuring instrument is fed.
