Description

Wall formed from planks for the construction of a chalet The present invention relates to a wall formed from planks for the construction of a chalet, characterized in that, intended to be erected between a foundation plate and a tie rod supporting the part of the construction located above the ground floor, it is made up of juxtaposed planks assembled to each other, by their small opposite longitudinal faces, and in such a way that, when it is erected , said planks are vertical,

this in order to eliminate the sagging of the walls due to the shrinkage of the wood, to avoid falls in the squaring of planks and to facilitate their assembly.

The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows, in a diagrammatic manner, an embodiment of a wall intended for the construction of a chalet.

Fig. 1 is a partial elevational view of a side facade of a chalet.

Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the wall shown in FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a sectional plan, taken along line III-III of FIG. 1.

Fig. 4 is a horizontal section of two juxtaposed planks having two assembly means.

In the embodiment shown, a wall 1 of a chalet 2 is formed by planks 3, 3 ', 3 ", placed vertically and juxtaposed to each other by the small longitudinal faces 4, 4' of each of ' them, the large longitudinal faces 5, 5 'of each of them forming the exterior and interior facings respectively of the chalet.

The lower end of the plank 3 (fig. 2) is assembled to a foundation plate 6 by a watchtip 7 and its upper end is also assembled by a tongue 9 to the tie rod 8 supporting the upper floor or the roof of the chalet. These assemblies are also carried out on the planks 3 ', 3 "and on the others: planks constituting the wall 1.

In addition, the plank 3 is assembled to the plank 3 'by tabs, for example by two tabs 10, 10' '(fig. 3 and 4), mutually parallel and distributed in pairs over the height of said planks.

At the junction of two juxtaposed planks, their sides are chamfered over the entire length of the planks, so as to present a V-shaped recess 11 intended for the ornamentation of the exterior walls of the chalet as well as its interior walls when the latter are not provided with a coating.

In order to complete the aesthetic appearance of the angles of facades, vertical beams 12, 12 ', of decreasing thickness from their top to their base, are assembled by tabs 13 to the two planks 3, placed at the angle of two contiguous facades.

A variant of the means of assembling the planks by the twin tabs: 10, 10 'consists in joining the planks 3' and 3 by tenons 14 and mortises 15 respectively, as shown in the right part of FIG. 4.

One could also provide the lower end of the vertical planks with notches forming a right angle, in which the upper rim 16 (Fig. 2) of the plate 6, on the outside of the wall, would rest. The chalet 2 further comprises a floor 17, a foundation plinth 18, for example made of concrete, a ceiling 19 and a roof 20, of usual construction.

The wall described, comprising the vertical arrangement of the planks, has the following advantages: the elimination of sags and cracks due to the shrinkage of the timber, which occur when the planks are assembled horizontally, as a result of high heat or their exposure to sun, or even relative to their situation, thereby causing differences in leveling as well as more effective protection against bad weather, rain or snow.

This arrangement of the planks also makes it possible to break the monotony of the usual appearance of the chalet. Finally, it prevents falls in the wise squaring of the planks and facilitates their assembly.
