Device for retaining a movable mass in a self-winding watch In most self-winding watches, the movable mass ensuring the winding pivots around a tenon integral with the movement. In order to retain this mass axially in place on its tenon, a large number of watches include a removable latch which is fixed to a bridge so that part of the latch extends above a peripheral rim of the central part of the mass, or which is fixed to the mass so that part of the lock is engaged in a tenon groove.
There are also constructions in which the lock is permanently mounted on the mass, but so as to be able to move transversely with respect to the latter. These locks are then placed under the action of a spring tending to maintain them normally in the locking position.
The present invention relates to a device for retaining a movable mass in a self-winding watch, this mass pivoting about a tenon integral with the movement and being provided with a movable latch, which plunges into a groove of the tenon to retain the tenon. mass axially in place on the latter, when the lock occupies a determined angular position. In the device according to the invention, the lock is mounted on the central part of the mass, so as to be able to pivot relative to the latter. In addition, this lock is placed in a housing covered by an elastic plate.
Finally, this plate and said lock have, one a projection, and the other an entrance, said projection being intended to penetrate into said entrance so as to immobilize said lock, when the latter is engaged in the groove of said tenon. One embodiment of the fixing device according to the invention is shown, by way of example, in the drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a sectional view thereof; fig. 2, a plan view. Fig. 1 of this drawing represents only the part of an upper bridge 1 of the movement, intended to carry the mass 2 ensuring the automatic winding of this movement.
A tenon 3, produced in one piece with a plate 4, is fixed by screws 5 to the bridge 1, so as to protrude above the latter. As for the mass 2, it is force-engaged around a cylindrical seat 6 of a pinion 7, coaxial with the tenon 3. This pinion thus forms the central part of the mass 2 and it acts as a bearing for this mass in pivoting around the tenon 3 via the cylindrical wall 8 of its central opening.
This pinion 7 is engaged with a mobile 9 of a transmission mechanism connected to the shaft of the barrel (not shown) of the watch.
An annular housing 10 is formed coaxially with the pinion 7 in the upper part thereof. A second housing 11, formed in the bottom of the housing 10, communicates with the space located inside the cylindrical wall 8 of the pinion 7. A lock 12 is located in this housing 11, in which it is mounted so as to be able to pivot by means of a stud 13 engaged in a hole in the pinion 7, from its position shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2 up to the position shown in phantom.
This lock 12 is retained axially

in place in its housing by an annular plate 14, located in the housing 10 of the pinion 7 and fixed to the latter by a screw 15, diametrically opposed to the latch 12 relative to the axis of the mass 2.
The latch 12 has a slotted head 16 freely passing through an opening 17 of the plate 14. To give the central part of the mass a satisfactory appearance, the visible part of the head 16 and that of the head of the screw 15 are similar; in addition, this head 16 and the screw 15 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the tenon 3.
As seen in fig. 2, the bolt 12 has the shape of a sector and the location of its pivot 13, relative to the tenon 3, is chosen so that it plunges into a groove 18 of this tenon to retain the mass 2 axially in place , when it occupies the angular position shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2 and so that it is located entirely outside this groove 18, in order to release the mass 2 from its tenon 3, when it occupies the angular position shown in phantom.
To prevent the lock 12 from coming out of the groove 18 of the tenon 3 inappropriately, by pivoting around its stud 13, it has an entry 19 and the annular plate 14 has, on its underside, a projection 20 intended to engage. in entry 19 of lock 12, when the lock is in the locked position. Thanks to the domed shape of the projection 20, the latch 12 lifts the part of the annular plate 14 furthest from the screw 15, when the latch is moved around its stud 13 from its locking position.
This deformation of the plate 14 is without other possible due to the fact that the projection 20 is situated opposite the fixing screw 15 of this plate and to the fact that the latter is thin. A stopper 21 prevents the lock from passing beyond its locking position.
