Circuit breakers Circuit breakers are known comprising a base having a part intended to receive a label to indicate the circuit protected by the circuit breaker. When a switchboard includes several circuit breakers arranged side by side and of the same shape, there is a risk of inverting the covers when they have been removed at the same time, so that the indications on the cover no longer correspond to reality. Such exchange of covers can result in serious accidents.
To remedy this drawback, it has been already proposed to place a second inscription on the base of the circuit breaker, but it is clear that the safety is only increased. provided that the fitter always compares the inscrip- tion of the circuit breaker and that of the cover before proceeding to the latter.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks. Its object is a circuit breaker comprising, on the one hand, a base having a housing for a fuse and, on the other hand, a removable protective cover to cover this base and the conductive parts of the circuit breaker. , characterized in that the cover has a window arranged such that, when the cover is in position on the base, this window is located opposite a part fixed to the base and intended to bear an indication. The appended drawing represents, schematically and to by way of example, one embodiment of a circuit breaker according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side view of this embodiment provided with its cover, the latter being in section.
Fig. 2 is a front view of the circuit breaker without its cover.
Fig. 3 is a view corresponding to in fig. 1, with the cover removed.
The circuit breaker shown comprises a base 1 made of insulating material having a housing 2 for a fuse. The latter is fixed in a known manner * by means of a plug intended to be screwed into a threaded sleeve 3 of conductive material. This socket 3 is electrically connected to a terminal 4 provided with tightening screws, while a conductive part 5 having a terminal 6 comprises a part located inside the interior of the housing 2 and intended to establish electrical contact with the end of the fuse, which is not represented.
Terminals 4 and 6 are intended to to be connected to the phase wire, while the neutral is connected to terminals 7 < / B> and 8, between which the electrical contact is established by means of a movable 9 plate. The metal part carrying the socket 3 has four threaded bores 10, 10 ' and 11, 11'. One screw 12 is engaged in the threaded bore ll 'and secures to the base a support 13, on which is articulated a part 14 of the tines to bear an indication . The 10 and 10 ' bores are provided to fix the socket 3 to the base 1 by means of screws passing through the base and whose head is on the rear face thereof.
The circuit breaker comprises a cover 15 having an opening 16 to allow the introduction of the fuse into the housing 2 of the circuit breaker. This cover also has a window 17 formed by a sheet of transparent material 18. This window is arranged in such a way that when the cover 15 is in position on the base 1, as shown to in fig. 1, this window 17 is located opposite part 14 intended to carry the indication of the circuit protected by the circuit breaker.
The cover 15 is fixed to the circuit breaker by means of a screw engaged in the threaded bore 11.
As shown in fig. 2, part 14 partially covers the clamping screws for terminals 6 and 8 and one of the base fixing screws 1, not shown, but intended to be pledged in a hole 21 of this one. It is however possible to easily access to these terminals and < B> to the fixing screw by pivoting part 14 around an axis 19, by means of which it is articulated to the support 13, as shown to in fig. 3. This figure shows that when part 14 has undergone a certain rotation, it is very easy to access the screws of terminals 6 and 8 </ B> and to the base fixing screw 21 using a screwdriver 20.
It is advantageous that the part 14 is made of an insulating material and that its front surface is matt, so to to allow writing directly on this face and at the same time to present a good adhesion. in the event that it is desired to stick a label on this face. Thanks to the sy metric arrangement of the threaded bores 10, 10 ' and 11, ll', it is seen that the cover 15 < / B> can be placed in two different positions on the base 1, its fixing being ensured by the engagement of a screw in the threaded bore 11 or 1 the as the case may be.
When the fixing of the cover is ensured by the engagement of its screw in the bore ll ', the support 13 is fixed on the other side of the sleeve 3 relative to to the position shown to in fig. 2, and this by means of the screw 12 engaged in the threaded bore 11. In this way, part 14 is always located opposite the window 17 of the cover 15.
It is understood that many modifications could be made to the circuit breaker described.
Thus, the window 17 of the cover 15 could be devoid of a sheet of transparent material 18. In this case, the shape of the part 14 could be planned so that this part engages at least partially inside the inside of the window or even the cross member completely to protrude to the outside of the housing. Depending on the arrangement of the connection terminals and the general shape of the circuit breaker, part 14 does not need to be articulated to the support 13. This part 14 could be fixed directly to the base 1 of removable way or not.
