Surge arrester for high operating voltages. The main patent no. 289822 relates to surge arresters for high operating voltages, in which a multiple spark gap is in series with the discharge resistance and in which both the partial resistances and the partial spark gaps each form an (n-group.
The parts of the leakage resistor and the multiple spark gap are elements of a multi-column insulating stub combined to form elements, and the elements are accommodated in hollow insulators with metal caps. The insulating sleeve has two sections lying on top of each other,
wherein the resistance elements are assigned to the inner section of the insulating sleeve and the elements of the multiple spark gap are assigned to the upper section of the same. This arrangement leads to a considerable reduction in the overall height of the arrester at the highest voltages and to a design that is resistant to bending, pressure and tensile stresses, while avoiding special support and stiffening means.
A further reduction in the overall height of the arrester is achieved in that, according to the invention, the elements of the multiple spark line are distributed over at least two columns, which are grouped next to one another in the upper section of the two-story insulating support.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei game of the invention is shown schematically in longitudinal section. The designations used in the figure and its explanation below for the parts of the arrester ver point to similar parts of the same function of the main patent.
The insulating support has three columns c1, c2, c; and two sections u and ss which are stacked in the manner of stories. The three pillars of the support are at the corners of an equilateral triangle; they can be slightly inclined upwards towards one another or placed vertically next to one another. For the mechanical connection and support of the pillars, the crosspiece d2 is used, which at the same time establishes the electrical connection of the elements from sections a and ss.
Sockets on the top and bottom of the insulating support are designated by dl and d3. The resistances cl etc. and the spark gaps a1 etc. of the elements are inside hollow insulators with metal top and bottom caps.
The resistance elements b1, b3, b5, b7, b9, bll are staggered grouped in the lower section ss of the insulating support in the columns cl, c2, e3 and resistance elements b2, b4, b6 connecting the columns , b8, just connected in series.
The elements d1 to a3 of the multiple spark path are distributed over three columns lying next to one another, which are grouped in a triangle in the upper section a of the insulating stub like the columns of the resistance elements. The arrester is built into a protective housing g made of insulating material.
It is easily possible to distribute the elements of the leakage resistance and the multiple spark line on more than three pillars and to group these pillars of the insulating support at the corner of a regular polygon.
