Round sealed box. There are different types of so-called armed glasses, that is to say glasses of which the sealed seal with the bezel is. ensured by an inner metal ring which presses the edge of the. ice against the corresponding wall of the notch. The latter is formed by a battue with a cylindrical or conical wall formed on the side of the top of the bezel.
The internal machining of the bezel (housing the movement, threading for the back, support for the gasket, seal, etc.) takes place from below, the notch alone requires additional recovery with its drawbacks (increased manufacturing cost, risk of eccentricity, etc.). In addition, this notch being shallow, it is difficult to gauge it with precision.
The present invention a. for the purpose of remedying these drawbacks. Its object is a round waterproof case with a removable bottom, mainly for a timepiece, the waterproof seal of which between the transparent flexible material crystal and the bezel is produced by means of a metal ring which, driven out of the way. Inside the rim of the lens, radially presses the outer cylindrical surface of said rim against a corresponding inner cylindrical surface of the bezel.
The case, object of the invention, is characterized in that the diameter of said cylindrical surface of the bezel is smaller than all the other diameters measured inside this bezel. The height position of the glass is determined by a circular projection of the end of the rim of the glass bearing against a beat of the bezel.
The single figure of the appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention in partial section through a plane passing on the axis of the box: The box shown consists of a rure-bezel 1, a bottom not shown, and a crystal 2 made of transparent flexible material, for example polymethyl methacrylate, such as the product brand Plexiglas. The latter comprises a flange 3 whose outer surface 4 is cylindrical and the inner surface 5, also cylindrical, is formed by the wall of an inner battue 6.
Said cylindrical surface 4 fits freely inside a corresponding cylindrical surface 7 of the. telescope 1. A circular projection 8 of the glass, resting against the upper face of a battue 9 of the. telescope, determines the height position of the glass. Once the ice has been introduced from inside the bezel, a metal ring 10 is driven inside the battue 6, which has the effect of radially and strongly pressing the surface 4 of the glass against that 7 of the bezel and thus ensure a tight seal between the two parts. The dial 11 comes to rest; Under the ring 10 machined so as to constitute a flange.
The depth of the battue 6 is determined in such a way that the movement 12 itself is supported under the ice. Said movement could also be supported against a second beat, of phis large diameter, made in the middle part, this so as to ensure a more exact position in height. Ice creeping in from inside the. telescope, the diameter of the cylindrical surface 7 is necessarily smaller. than all other diameters measured inside said telescope. This surface can therefore be machined as a simple bore, from the same side as all the other internal machining operations, therefore without reworking, with a robust tool, and easily gauged with precision using a buffer.
