Metal rod suitable for making metal doors and windows. The present invention relates to metal rods which are suitable for the construction of metal doors and windows.
It is now common for metal doors and windows to be made from solid rods. are, which are rolled or pressed onto a profile, which has a fold for receiving the edge of the glass plate and a ver running in the opposite direction fold, which forms a the frame men touching and resting on the same flange that the inward movement of the door or . of the window and contributes to the weatherproof closure.
It is also customary to provide a short flanseli or a short lip for each fold so that the overall cross section has the shape of an H.
According to the invention, the rod consists of two sheet metal parts, both of which are bent to form a <B> Z </B> cross-section, with the arms of the <B> Z </B> at a real angle. are curved to the bridge.
These parts are arranged so that their webs are parallel to one another at a distance from one another and lie on top of one another with the pairs of arms which are attached to one another, so that the cross-section of the rod is Z-shaped and has a tubular web.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail, for example, with reference to the drawings. Figure 1 is a perspective view of both components of the rod.
Fig. 2 is an end view showing the two components in the intermediate stage of manufacture of the finished bar.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a portion of the finished rod.
4 and 5 are partial views of modified embodiments.
Each component consists of a sheet metal strip which is bent in a Z-shape in order to form a web 2 and two arms 3, 4 positioned at right angles thereto. The free end of arm 3 is bent back by 180 <B> '</B> and forms a fold 5, and at the point where arm 3 and web \ _' meet, arm 3 is a short distance by < B> 1800 </B> bent back to form the short flange shown at number 6 on the opposite side.
The arm 4 is slightly shorter than the part of the arm 3 that is not bent back.
When assembling the rod, the two components described are arranged as shown in Fig. \? is shown where at their webs lie against one another and the short arm 4 of each part lies against the inside of the folded arm 3 of the other part. In this position, the short arm 4 of each component is opposite the fold 5 of the other part.
If the two parts are now moved from one another in the direction of the arrow E1 in FIG. 2, the webs are pushed apart and the arms 4 engage in the folds 5 until the free ends 4a of the arms 4 meet the soles of the folds 5 , and since by limiting any further movement of the two parts from one another. The walls of the folds 5 are then pressed together so that they hold the arms 4 in place by frictional action.
The rod created in this way creates the hollow web 7 of FIG. 3, the folds 8 and 9 and the short flanges 6, 6 and is therefore the counterpart to the conventional rolled or pressed solid rod. However, it is lighter than this and more economical in terms of material requirements and production costs and, due to its cross section and the triple metal face on the flanges 3 and 4, which are located one above the other, offers high resistance to lateral bending.
In addition, the components can be anchored against solution by means of point welds 10. In the modified structures, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the superimposed parts are anchored to one another by bending, as is shown at 11 and 11a is. In Fig. 4, the bend is located near the outer ends of the arms, while in Fig. 5 it results in outwardly directed bulges 11a which are located in the middle between the ends of the arms.
In both cases, the beads 11 and 11a serve as weather protection, which prevents rainwater from seeping through between the window frame and the window.
