Buch-Einbanddecke. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Buch- einbanddecke, die mindestens zum grösseren Teil aus Pappe besteht und deren Ränder durch umgefaltete Streifen verdoppelt sind.
entsprechend der Erfindung sind die Falt- ränder der Decke durch wenigstens eine par allel zu den Falträndern angeordnete Einker bung abnerundet. Auf diese Weise wird eine Einbanddecke erhalten, welche, obschon sie ans dünner Pappe hergestellt werden kann, trotzdem infolge der doppelten Ränder den Eindruck von Solidität macht, und welche tatsächlich verhältnismässig fest ist. Eine Buelieinbancldeelce dieser Art besitzt bleich zeitig einen gewissen Grad von Biegsamkeit.
Eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform der Bucheinbanddecke gemäss der Erfindung ist mit einer Variante auf der Zeichnung darge stellt.
Fig. 1 zeigt schematisch ein Stück Pappe, z. B. Karton, aus welchem eine Einbanddecke hergestellt wird. Vor dem Umfalten der Rän der wird die Pappe mit einer Einkerbung 1 versehen. Die Pappe wird längs dieser Ein kerbung 1 in der Pfeilrichtung in Fig. 1 ge faltet, so dass ein Doppelrand mit einer dazu rechtwinkligen Faltkante 2 (Fib. 2) erhalten wird.
Eine solche Faltkante, welche bisher üblich ist, ist jedoch so steif, dass beim Biegen eines Deckels der fertigen Einbanddecke der äussere Faltrand bricht, wie es schematisch rialie 3 und 4 der Fig. 3 gezeigt ist. Aus diesem Grund wird der erhaltene Faltrand gemäss Fig. 2 noch weiter behandelt, indem wenigstens eine Kerbe parallel zu und in einem kurzen Abstand vom Faltrand vor- beselien wird.
Diese Kerbe kann auf der Aussenseite der Einbanddecke gemacht wer den, wie es bei 5 in Fig. 4 gezeigt ist, oder auf der Innenseite der Einbanddecke, wie es bei 6 in Fig. 5 angegeben ist. In beiden Fällen wird ein seil- oder zylinderförmiger Falzrand erhalten, der gleich wie die übrigen Teile der Einbanddecke eine relativ grosse Biegsamkeit zeigt und keine Neigung zum Knicken be sitzt, wie es schematisch in Fig. 6 gezeigt ist. Folglich muss nicht länger befürchtet werden,
dass durch zu starke Beanspruchung der Bieg samkeit der Einbanddecke, wozu die Kon struktion einer Decke der in Frage stehenden Art einlädt, die Ränder der Deckel der Ein banddecke einen Schaden erleiden. Es könnte auch je eine Einkerbung auf der Aussen- und auf der Innenseite der Decke vorgesehen sein.
Folglich ist es tatsächlich praktisch mö g lich, aus verhältnismässig billigem. Material, wie Pappe, eine biegsame Bucheinbanddecke herzustellen, welche ein schönes Aussehen mit Solidität verbindet. In diesem Zusammenhang wird bemerkt, dass die herzustellende Kerbe oder Kerben ununterbrochen oder unterbro- ehen, geradlinig oder wellig oder zickzack sein kann.
Die Anwendung der Erfindung ge währt besondere Vorteile im Fall einer Buch einbanddecke, die aus einem einzelnen Bogen aus Pappe besteht, der sieh über clen Vorder deckel, den Rüel;enteil und den hintern Dek- hel erstreckt, oder aus Material, das haupt sächlich aus Pappe zusammengesetzt ist.

Fig. 1 shows schematically a piece of cardboard, e.g. B. Cardboard from which a cover is made. Before folding the edges of the cardboard is provided with a notch 1. The cardboard is folded along this notch 1 in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 1, so that a double edge with a folding edge 2 at right angles thereto (Fib. 2) is obtained.
Such a folding edge, which has been common up to now, is so stiff, however, that when a cover of the finished cover is bent, the outer folding edge breaks, as is shown schematically in rial 3 and 4 of FIG. For this reason, the folded edge obtained according to FIG. 2 is treated further in that at least one notch is brushed past parallel to and a short distance from the folded edge.
This notch can be made on the outside of the cover, as shown at 5 in FIG. 4, or on the inside of the cover, as indicated at 6 in FIG.
