Description

Jumper device cooperating with two toothed wheels. The object of the present invention is a jumper device cooperating with two toothed wheels, characterized in that it comprises a jumper comprising a body and two flexible branches coming from said body which is freely adjusted on a fixed member.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows part of a date watch movement using the aforementioned two-branched jumper.

Fig. 2 makes it possible to understand how the bending force is distributed in the two branches under the action of one of the toothed wheels.

In fig. 1, the jumper comprises a body 1 and the branches 2 and 3 arranged along the two sides of an obtuse angle. It is freely adjusted at 0 on the movement plate P by means of a screw within reach and thus forms a kind of angled lever with two arms. The ends 4 and 5 of the branches 2 and 3, of triangular shape, cooperate respectively with each of the star gear wheels 6 and 7.

The wheel 6 has a dial on which the days of the week are indicated; she performs 1 /, turn per day. A pin 8a carried by a return 8 integral with the movement pushes a tooth of the wheel 6 every day. On the other hand, the wheel 6 can also be actuated by a push device comprising the levers 9 and 10 and the spring of reminder 11. Wheel 7 has a dial which bears the names of the twelve months of the year. It is moved by the pusher 12, which is returned to its initial position under the pressure of the res out 13.

The role of the saltire represented is twofold. On the one hand, it maintains the toothed wheels 6 and 7 in position and, on the other hand, it cooperates through its ends 4 and 5 with the pushers 9, 10 and 12. In fact, consider the push-button 12; its movement around point 14 is limited by a stop 15 fixed on the plate P of the movement and when it is actuated from the outside at 16, it only advances the toothed wheel 7 by half a tooth against the pres elastic tension of the end 4 of the branch 2 which flexes to allow the top of a tooth to pass.

As soon as the pusher 12 returns to its normal position under the return action of the res out 13, the end 4 descends, resting against the side of the tooth which has just passed, so that the wheel 7 performs the rotation corresponding to the second half-tooth under the pressure exerted by the branch 2 of the jumper 1.

The branch 3 of the jumper cooperates in the same way with the push device 9, 10 to move the day wheel 6.

The bending tension exerted by the teeth of one of the wheels 6 or 7 on one of the branches 2 or 3 is distributed at the same time on the two branches of the jumper, because it is freely adjusted at 0 and therefore constitutes a lever with two arms 2 and 3, of which 0 is the fulcrum. In fig. 2, branch 3 bends (dashed lines) under the action of tooth 17, the tension being distributed over the two branches, branch 2 also bends while end 4 remains in a fixed position between the teeth 18 and 19; it follows a slight rotation of the body 1 of the jumper around point 0.

The jumper device described gives branches 2 and 3 a greater flexural elasticity, for a given section and length, than that which two independent jumpers would have. Indeed, if the body 1 of the jumper were rigidly fixed to the plate, the branches 2 and 3 would act as two independent jumpers and the bending moment of one would not be distributed equally over the other.
