Description

Device for closing a container for pasty, semi-liquid or
 liquids.

The present invention has pourobjetun device for closing a container for dea. pasty, semi-liquid or liquid substances, which is characterized that it comprises, on the one hand, a body which is crossed by at least one channel communicating permanently with the interior of the container and which has a conical wall projection, as well as a peripheral thread, said channel opening into a part of the outer surface of this body located at a radius smaller than that of said thread and, on the other hand, a cap screwing onto the aforesaid thread, the bottom of the this cap being pierced with a central duct with a conical wall of the same slope as that of the aforementioned projection,

on which the wall of this duct is applied when the cap is screwed on fully, while, when this cap is partially unscrewed, an annular passage exists between two conical walls and puts the aforesaid channel in communication with the outlet of the led from this hat.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention, applied to the case where it is a device which fits removably on a deformable tube containing a substance. pasty, such as a tube of toothpaste.

Fig. 1 shows the device in axial section, in the closed position.

Fig. 2 shows the device in axial section, in the open position.

The device shown comprises a body 1 having an internal thread 2, by which it screws onto the mouth 3 of the container 4 which, in the example shown, is a metal tube with a deformable wall, such as a paste tube. toothpaste. The body 1 is crossed obliquely by channels 5, only two of which are visible on the sin, communicating permanently, by one of their'extremities, with the interior 6 of the container 4. This body has, in addition, a central projection 7, with a conical wall 8. It has, moreover, a peripheral thread 9. The channels 5 open out into an annular surface 10 which the body 1 has and which is located at a radius smaller than that of the thread 9. This surface annular 10 is, as can be seen in the drawing, at the base of the projection 7.

The device shown further comprises a cap 11, screwed onto the thread 9. The bottom of this cap is pierced with a central duct! 12 with a conical wall of the same slope as that of the surface 8. The wall of this duct 12 comes to rest against the conical wall 8 of the projection 7 when the cap is screwed on fully, as is the case. in the position shown in fig. 1. The cap 11 has a knurling 13 on the outside allowing the user to easily screw it on and off with respect to the body 1.

When you want to extract from the tube a
certain amount of the substance it contains, it is slightly unscrewed. cap 11 to bring it for example in the position shown in FIG. 3. Once this position has been reached, it can be seen that there is between the conical surfaces 8 and 12 an annular passage connecting the channels 5 with the outlet 14 of the duct 12. It suffices, therefore, to press on the tube 4 to crush it lightly, so that the material is driven from the inside of the tube s through the channels 5 and through the space between the conical walls 8 and 12, and that it escapes through, exit 14.

When it is desired to close the container, it suffices to screw the cap lia bottom to bring it back to the position according to fig. 1. We apply one again to a. between the conical surfaces 8 and 12, which cuts off the communication between the channels 5 and the outside.

In order to prevent material from escaping from the channels 5 by moving towards the thread 9, a seal is provided consisting of the cooperation of two cylindrical surfaces of the same diameter provided, one 15 on the body 1, and the other 16 inside the hat 11.

These two surfaces, which are at a radius smaller than that of the thread 9, are constantly in contact, whether the cap 11 is screwed there or partially unscrewed, so that they effectively prevent the material coming out of the channels 5 to reach this thread.

It is clear that the invention is not limited to the case where the device is intended to be fixed by screwing on a container. It is not limited either to the case where the device is intended to be removably attached to a container. In other embodiments, the body 1 could be part of the container itself.

It is obvious that the device can be applied equally well to receptacles containing pasty substances as well as semi-liquid or liquid substances,
