Löscheinrichtung an geformten Rauchartikeln.
Extinguishing device on shaped smoking articles. In the case of shaped smoking articles, such as cigarettes, chubs, but especially for cigarettes, the unwanted continued burning of the stub leads to unpleasant side effects in various respects. As long as the burning continues, there is a risk of fire from smoking articles that have been placed or thrown away. To prevent the stub from burning further, it is often crushed in the ashtray or another vessel. An ashtray filled with such crushed stumps looks unaesthetic.
For many smokers, and especially smokers, the mashing itself, which often causes soiling of the hands, is unsympathetic, so that it is omitted and the smoking article continues to burn in the ashtray, which produces a very unpleasant smoke, especially with cigarettes.
. The invention relates to a release device on shaped smoking articles and aims to limit these excesses as much as possible. According to the invention, an extinguishing agent is arranged at a specific point on the smoking article, which prevents the smoking article from automatically continuing to burn beyond this point. The extinguishing agent expediently consists at least partially of refractory material of low thermal conductivity, which has no adverse effect on the smoking article.
Asbestos has proven to be particularly suitable for this purpose, the extinguishing agent expediently being a layer around the circumference of the smoking article under its cover layer, d. h. So for cigarettes, under the paper running tape, z. B. can be formed as a strip or a cord made of asbestos.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention, namely on a cigarette, is shown.
FIG. 1 shows the burning cigarette in a view, FIG. 2 shows the same in longitudinal section and FIG. 3 shows the same in cross section along line 1-I in FIG. 1. The extinguishing effect Means is a band 1 made of asbestos, which runs in a ring inside the paper envelope 2 at that point on the cigarette at which the stub that has been deposited is to be automatically extinguished. A band of this type has no adverse effect on the cigarette, in particular not with regard to the taste, and is also hardly noticeable from the outside, as can be seen from FIG. 1.
The asbestos tape, which can be designed as a strip or cord, can, for example, be up to 2 mm wide or thick, but other dimensions are also possible. Tests have shown that this resulted in a stub which burned down to the point of the tape 1 , in which the ashes 3 are dense at this point it is enough to be automatically acquired in a short time after being laid down.
Instead of asbestos, the tape can also be made of other material, e.g. B. metal, clay, refractory paper exist. The tape can also consist of paper, to which sand, asbestos or another substance that has an extinguishing effect adheres.
Instead of a single part, such as a band, the extinguishing agent can also consist of several particles which are attached in various ways to the cigarette paper or in the tobacco at the desired location so that the aforementioned extinguishing effect is achieved. The extinguishing active agent can also be a perforated or porous, in tabah. arranged disc be made of a refractory material. The application of the extinguishing agent with the cigarette paper or in the tobacco can be done before or during the manufacture of the cigarette.
The release device can also be used for cigars instead of cigarettes, the cover layer taking the place of the paper.
