Relay with armature and contact arrangement sealed gas-tight in a housing. The invention relates to a relay with a gas-tight sealed armature and contact arrangement in a housing.
Such relays are already known. They are used in particular for switching currents of high voltage and high frequency. Previous designs have generally mine a cylindrical glass vessel, in the axis of which the anchor is arranged. The influence of the magnetic flux on the armature occurs through lines of magnetic force that enter the cylinder and that can be guided inside via pole pieces if necessary.
In the known arrangements, the supply of the magnetic fluxes to the armature causes difficulties because the path through the glass results in a large spread. Attempts have already been made to remedy this by making the jacket of the relay entirely or partially out of copper, the walls of which can be considerably thinner than the glass walls with the same strength. The cylindrical structure of the well-known vacuum relays requires the use of turned and milled parts, so that their manufacture is expensive.
The invention aims to overcome these difficulties. It consists in the fact that the armature of the vacuum relay is T-shaped and the part of the vacuum vessel facing the cross bar of the armature consists of non-magnetic material through which the magnetic control flows occur which influence the cross bar of the armature from the outside.
Relays with a T-shaped armature are known per se, but the use for vacuum relays offers considerable advantages.
It can namely be used when using this structure stamped parts for the relay, and the vacuum vessel is then much more crowded and smaller with the same distance between the high voltage and high frequency leading parts from others.
The part of the vacuum vessel facing the crossbar of the T-shaped anchor, preferably the foot, is expediently made of copper and designed as a pot. This pot can, if this should be necessary, be provided with stiffeners.
The magnets can be designed in such a way that the two poles each face a crossbeam arm, which results in a closed magnetic flux. In this case, therefore, relatively low magnetic forces are required to actuate the relay, and a high contact pressure can be achieved. Even more so if the magnetic flux between the armature crossbeam and the magnet is only interrupted by the thin copper wall.
In the attached figure, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown. A thin-walled copper pot 1 carries two struts?, Between which a cross beam 3 is attached. At the point of the copper pot where the struts? are arranged, a stiffener 4 is also provided, which also serves to hold the relay pot. A leaf spring 5 is clamped between the crossbar and carries the T-shaped armature 6 at its upper end. This armature is divided into two crossbars 7 at the bottom, while it continues upwards in an insulator 8 and the contact springs 9. The crossbars can be arranged so that they are horizontal when the contacts are in the middle.
But you can also sit in this position a slight incline be upwards, so that when the armature is pivoted into a position where contact between the contacts 10 and 9 or 9 and 11 is made, they are horizontal. The con tacts of the armature can be formed in a well-known manner as spring friction contacts, through which the bruises when striking the mating contacts 10 and 11 are reduced. These mating contacts are attached to two supports 13 which are placed on a frame 14 made of insulating material. This frame is mounted on the Stre ben 2. The frame 14 can with the struts 2 in one piece, for. B. made of ceramic.
If the leaf spring 5 is made so strong that the armature returns to the central position when the magnets are not energized, a three-position relay is obtained. The power supply to the Kontak th 10 and 11, as well as to the contact spring 9 of the armature happens. by flexible supply lines 15, which are melted into the glass housing. The glass case is in turn fused and / or fused to the lower end at point 16 with the copper pot. soldered ver with the interposition of a melt-in ring. Two magnets 1.7 and 1.8 are attached below the copper pot opposite the arm of the contact lever 7.
Of these, the magnet 17 is shown as an electromagnet, while the magnet 18 can be a permanent magnet, for example. But you can also train the Magne th 18 as an electromagnet depending on the function of the relay. The two poles of each of these magnets are directly opposite the associated arms 7, so that the magnetic fluxes of both magnets can flow through one or the other arm 7. Since there is only the thin wall of the pot made of copper or other non-magnetic material between the arms and the poles of the magnets, the relay has a very good magnetic circuit.
