Process for the manufacture of orthopedic shoes. The invention relates to a Ver drive for the production of orthopedic shoes and aims to create the possibility of producing a shoe on a last for series production, dei. can be individually adapted to the sick foot.
How desirable this is is shown by the fact that, for example, 80 out of 100 foot patients require a twisting of the surface of the foot. A tread surface is warped when it is raised again on the inside of the heel and on the outside, at the level of the fifth metatarsal and cuboid.
The new method now consists in attaching a support to a last intended for series production, the dimensions of which approximately correspond to a support insert for a sick foot, whereupon, after the shoe has been completed over the last modified in this way, the support insert can be detached the shoe is used.
The method can be carried out, for example, as follows: The last intended for the series production of shoes, the bottom of which, for example, already has a twist, is provided with a floor support also provided with a twist, the thickness of which is one to be inserted into the shoe, the insole acts as a footrest at least approximately. This ensures that the necessary space is created in the shoe for the subsequent introduction of the shoe insert. The insole that is detachably inserted into the shoe can then be individually adapted to the affected foot, while the shoe itself can be mass-produced.
If the bar has no distortion, this can be produced very easily on it. For this purpose, the last fittings on both Goodyear and Mackay lasts must be removed. Then the last floor receives a layer of factice, wood cement or the like, which will be of different thicknesses depending on the shape and size of the shoe, as well as the desired foot bedding and is to be shaped so that the contraction from the heel to the fifth meta tarsenkopf takes place gradually, along the longitudinal center line of the sole surface.
Correspondingly large parts of the last have to be removed, namely on the inside of the heel and on the outside between the middle of the joint and the ball of the joint. The overlay is chosen so thick that the insole required for the correct foot bedding can be held firmly so that the latter can possibly be reworked and adapted to the diseased foot. It is not necessary to go beyond 5 mm for men's shoes and 4 mm for women's shoes. The support is determined by binding agents on the last. It can also be attached to the last with a twist.
The insert serving as a footrest, which is subsequently introduced during the push finish, can be produced in a manner known per se and with known means. The footrest is inserted as a whole into the shoe and fixed there in an easily detachable manner. Since it is adapted to the inside of the shoe, the orthopedic or hygienic character of the shoe will not be conspicuous as with conventional orthopedic shoes.
It is particularly advantageous that the degree of twisting of the insert can be changed thanks to its interchangeability. The twisting as such is already known in shoe lasts; the ability to change the size of the twisting afterwards is new. Up to now it has been possible to give the last a contraction once and for all and of different dimensions for shoes of different sizes in last production.
However, if the distortion is to be increased or decreased, for example in a shoe store, according to the diseased foot, for example on the outside of the metatarsus or on the inside of the heel, this can be done in the case of the shoe produced by the method by appropriately regulating the insert to be placed in the shoe he will be enough.
