Projection device allowing the projection of each image to be varied in size. The invention relates to a projection apparatus for varying the size of the projection of each image. To this end, it comprises a lens composed of two parts which are movable relative to the image to be projected and one relative to the other.
This projection apparatus may be set up in such a way as to enable advertising to be achieved which attracts and retains attention because the projection of each image may on board be small and sharp, gradually increase, while always remaining sharp. , reach a maximum size and finally decrease to become small, and, at that moment, be replaced by the projection of another image.
The movements of each of the parts of the lens can be obtained for one of the parts by a device comprising a cam which determines, according to its rotation, the pivoting of a lever, the free end of which drives the part of the lens. -considered, and for the other of the parts by a rolling device, these two devices being able to be driven by the same control member, which can also drive the control mechanism of the image strip.
The accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example only, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the apparatus; Fig. 2 is a plan view of a detail; Fig. 3 is a profile view @ on the left; Fig. 4 is a profile view to the right of another detail.
The apparatus shown comprises a pulley 1 controlled by a motor which turns an axis 2. On the axis 2 are mounted integral in rotation two worms 3 and 4 which drive two helical wheels 5 and G. The helical wheel 5 is fixed on a shaft 7 which serves to transmit the rotational movement to the control mechanism 9 of the tape carrying the images and to a controllable control cam 8.
On the control cam 8 rolls a ga let 10 carried by a lever I1 having the shape of a T, and being articulated around .d'un fixed axis 12 which has at its free end a kind fork 13. This fork 13 has its two arms which are housed in a groove 14 of the support 15 of a portion 16 of the lens. This support 15 slides on a fixed rod 17 and comprises a key which slides in a longitudinal groove 1.8 provided on the rod 17 and which thus constantly maintains said support 15 in a suitable position, the optical axis of the part 16 -of the The objective is thus constantly in the same position.
The support 15 is integral with one -of the ends of a spring 19, the other end of which is fixed to the frame, this spring 19 constantly exerts on the support 15 a traction which is transmitted to the free end of the lever I1. which thus constantly presses its roller IO on the outer surface of the control cam 8.
The cam 8 must have a profile such that it modifies in combination with the lever 11 the position of the support I5 so that the resulting total focal length necessary is automatically adjusted for each image size in correspondence with the positions of the two parts. the goal.
On the axis - helical wheels 5 and 6 are fixed two adjustable toothed sectors 21 and 22 which can engage respectively with the pinions 23 and 24, but which are wedged in such a way on their axis that they cannot come into contact with the pinions 23 and 24. : taken with a certain offset with the toothed pinion which corresponds to them.
These two toothed pinions 23 and 24 pivot on axes which are carried by a support 25. On the pinion axis 23 is a keyed pulley 2.6. This pulley 26 is strongly braked by braking jaws 27 which are each articulated around a fixed axis 28 and which are subjected to. the action of an elastic means 29 constantly tending to press them against the side walls of the pulley 26. On the grooved pulley 26 is. coiled mid cable 30 which passes over rollers 31 which carries a bracket formed by a column 32 and uiic crosses 33.
The .cable 30 is secured by its free end -de the end of a rod 31 which slides in a slide 35 and which comprises in an adjustable manner the .support 36 of the second part 37 of the lens. The rod 34 has a groove 38 in which is Lo gée a key which is carried by the slide 35 and which prevents any rotation of the rod 34 and therefore allows the first and the. second part, of the objective constantly have the same optical axis.
The first part 16 of the objective is constituted by two plano-convex lenses and the second part 37 of the objective is constituted by a biconvex lens.
The operating principle of this device is as follows: if we bring the parts 16 and 37 -of the lens as close as possible to each other by making them occupy the appropriate position relative to the image to be projected, it is projected in the largest dimensions, on the contrary when the parts 16 and 37 of the lens are moved away from each other by making them occupy the suitable position with respect to the image to be projected, it is projected in the smallest dimensions ,.
This is obtained with the apparatus described as follows: as long as the lever 11 has its roller 10 which rolls on the circular path presented by the cam 8 and that neither of the two toothed sectors 21 and 22 is in position. taken with one of the two toothed gears. 23 and 2.1, the two parts 16 and 37 of the lens are as close as possible to each other, part 1_6 being subjected to. the action of lever II which la. keeps raised while part 37 is subjected to the action of gravity. The projection of larger dimensions is then obtained.
If the helical wheel 5 is driven with the toothed pinion 23 in the direction of the arrow, the cable 30 winds on the pulley at. groove 26 and thus acts on the rod 25 carrying the part 37 of the objective which is. moved up. At the same time, the roller 10 rolls on the re-entrant part of the cam 8 and the part 16 of the objective descends and the projection of smaller dimensions is thus obtained.
The toothed sectors 21 and 22 are adjusted in position relative to each other, such that when the toothed sector 21 leaves the toothed pinion 23, the toothed sector 22 in turn engages the toothed pinion 2d and reverses the direction of rotation of the grooved pulley 26 and causes the unwinding of the cable 30.
Thanks to this apparatus, one obtains-therefore the clear projection of an image, this projection growing uniformly to reach a maximum and then decrease.
Images. to be projected are carried in the known manner by a band which passes through 39 and which is driven by a dragging device; made at. the. ordinary way.
The projection lamp is obviously arranged at the lower part of the apparatus and the projection beam is reflected by a mirror on a screen arranged vertically.
