Fig. 5 stellt einen Umstell- schieber dar.
(Fig. 1).
Equipment for drying agricultural and chemical products. The invention relates to a drying system which is suitable for drying agricultural products such as grass, vegetables, grain, etc., as well as for the products of the chemical industry.
The drying system is characterized by the fact that only heated air or a mixture of combustion gas and air, which means is brought to the temperature required for the drying material by a draft regulator attached to an oven and an outlet channel, enables complete drying of the products concerned. The furnace of the plant can either be heated with coke, namely before geous for drying insensitive dry material, or with other fuel, the latter being used when sensitive dry material is to be dried by means of air.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the drying system in FIG. 1 is shown schematically in plan. 2, 3 and 4 show transverse and longitudinal sections through the oven and through the drying system, respectively. Fig. 5 shows a changeover slide.
At the bottom of a drying oven, as well as the air or combustion gas outlet from the oven, draft regulators b and bi are attached so that the air used for drying or the combustion gases can be brought to any desired or required temperature. At the beginning of the outlet duct, the adjustable changeover slide h is attached, which enables hot combustion gases to be taken directly from the furnace space a2 or hot air from the tubes a1 running through the furnace above the furnace.
Between the furnace and the fan v, an adjustable opening c for the inlet of cold air is arranged on the underside of the channel f ', which allows cold air supplied to be mixed with the warm air or the combustion gases. The fan v, driven by any engine .1V1, sucks in the heated air or combustion gas air mixture and pushes it through the distribution channels e-e2 into the drying fields i, ü etc.
A termometer t is attached to the fan v in order to be able to determine the temperature of the air or combustion gas air mixture required for the dry material. Behind the fan v, the shut-off slides 7c for each drying field i, il, etc. are arranged individually. In this type of shut-off, every dry field i, il etc. receives an even supply of air or combustion gas / air mixture. The drying fields i, ü etc. are covered with the drying trays g.
These are, for example, made of galvanized sheet iron or aluminum sheet and are provided with very fine, closely spaced cracks so that the supplied warm air or the combustion gas / air mixture has good access to the dry material and none of this falls into the space under the sheets . The drying fields i, il etc. are arranged next to one another, each time a space is provided for operation. With this arrangement, as many dry fields can be created as are required. The sheets g are exchangeable so that they allow better cleaning.
The drying process now proceeds as follows: Depending on the position of the change-over slide la, either hot air flows from the tubes ai or combustion gas from the oven chamber a2 into the channel f, in which a spark arrester z and a draft regulator bi is attached to the opening e, through which the heated air or the combustion gases cold air is supplied as required.
The fan v pushes the heated air mixture or the combustion gas air mixture through the channels e, ei, e: under the drying fields i, ii etc. (Fig. 1). In order to obtain a uniform distribution of the supplied air mixture or the combustion gas air mixture in the individual drying fields, the resistors in FIGS. 1 and 4 are attached.
If, for example, sensitive goods are to be dried, the reversing slide 1a, which has just as many holes as there are tubes installed in the oven (Fig. 3 and 5), must be set so that its holes open the outlet openings of the tubes, while he closes the supply of combustion gases from a2 with the sheet metal bridges that have remained between the LZiches. Only air from the tubes cri can now enter the channel f.
This enables any type of fuel, such as wood, coal, etc., to be used for firing, because it is impossible for the hot air to become impregnated with smoke in this position of the slide h. In the case of insensitive dry material, the change-over slide valve 1r is set so that the tubes ai are closed and the combustion gases can enter the channel from cri, in which case coke is expediently used for firing.
When using coke, the chimney p is only open for heating, after which it is closed by the throttle valve g.
