Des formes d'exécution de l'objet de l'in vention sont représentées, à titre d'exemple, au dessin annexé dans lequel: Fig. 1 montre schématiquement une forme d'exécution avec un seul, respectivement deux organes coulissants à sens unique analogues; Fig. 2 montre une forme d'exécution d'un dispositif pour maintenir la position moyenne de parties oscillantes dans un appareil ac tionné au moyen d'un dispositif hydraulique ordinaire; Fig..3 montre un arrangement schématique dans lequel la force agissant sur les organes coulissants est obtenue au moyen de pression fluide produite par un régulateur centrifuge; Fig.4 est une élévation latérale d'une forme d'exécution ultérieure;
Ratchet trainer device. The invention relates to a ratchet input device comprising a rotor actuated by at least one sliding member.
In the device according to the invention, the sliding organ acting on the rotor is subjected to a permanent force acting towards a fixed external point.
This device can be used for various applications, in particular to transform an oscillatory movement into an intermittent rotary movement in one direction.
Embodiments of the object of the invention are shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing in which: FIG. 1 schematically shows an embodiment with only one, respectively two analogous one-way sliding members; Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a device for maintaining the average position of oscillating parts in an apparatus actuated by means of an ordinary hydraulic device; Fig..3 shows a schematic arrangement in which the force acting on the sliding members is obtained by means of fluid pressure produced by a centrifugal regulator; Fig.4 is a side elevation of a later embodiment;
Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view of FIG. 4, while Fig. 6 is a side elevation partly in section; Fig. 7 is a detail view, showing part of the overturning mechanism; Fig. 8 is a side elevation of the reversing mechanism; Fig. 9 is a plan.
In the form of the invention shown in FIG. 1, there is a relatively short connecting rod a, here called stabilizing rod, pi voted at a fixed point b, and carrying at its end, a motor pivot c, which is put into oscillation by a connecting rod d connected to a common point e with a driving rod f and a connecting rod g pivoted at a fixed point h.
The movement is applied to the connecting rod f by the crank k of the motor shaft 1. The pivot c is connected by a connecting rod in with an oscillating member ii carrying a pawl or other ratchet device o, which acts on the rotor p pivoted on a fixed axis r. The pawl is connected to a fixed point s by a spring connection t. In this form of the invention, when the crank k turns, the common point e oscillates and transmits its movement to the pivot c which, as a result of the relative position of the fixed pivot, causes the oscillating member n to oscillate at double the frequency of the pivot e.
Consequently, two pulses are given by the pawl c to the rotor p during each revolution of the driving crank k.
Instead of a single sliding member, one could also provide two, as shown in FIG. 1, in which case all the parts are similar with the exception that two oscillating members n, 24 are provided carrying pawls o, acting on the rotor alternately, these pawls, as before, being actuated by external forces by the springs t, tc. In this case, two impulses are given to the rotor, for each half-revolution of the driving crank k.
In the form of the invention shown schematically in FIG. 2, a motor shaft 40 is provided with a crank 41, 42, 180 to each other, in phase. These cranks are connected to pistons 43, 44, functioning in cylinders 45, 46 which are kept continuously full of liquid by check valves 47, 48. The cylinders are connected by pipes 49, 50 at opposite ends of the cranks. 'a cylinder 51 in which is provided a double-acting piston 52, connected to a pivot 53. The pivot 53 is connected by a rod 54 to a pivot 55 at the free end of a stabilizing rod 56 which is pivoted at the point fixed 57.
The pivot 55 is also connected by two connecting rods 58, 59 with oscillating members 60, 61, carrying ratchet devices 62, 63, retained by springs 64, 65, connected to fixed points 66, 67, the devices ratchet being arranged such that they control the rotor in one direction. By this arrangement, the average position of the piston 52 is maintained, whether or not there is a load on the rotor 68. In the form of the invention shown in FIG. 3, the oscillating motor pivot 71 is connected by rods 72, 73 to oscillating members 74, 75, carrying ratchet devices 76, 77, these ratchet devices being able to act in one direction or the other.
The ratchet devices are connected by connecting rods 78, 79, to piston rods 80, 81 of pistons 82, 83, moving in cylinders 84, 85 which are connected together by pipes 86, 87 and which are connected by a reversing valve 88 with a source of pressurized fluid connected to 89, and an outlet for fluid 90. The fluid pressure applied to the inlet port 89 can be obtained by means of a cen trifuge regulator of the type described. in English patent 146642, directly connected or controlled by the motor shaft which transmits the movement to the pivot 71, or by any source of fluid pressure controlled by the speed of the primary motor shaft.
In this form of the invention, spells can be used in addition to the fluid pressure to exert a permanent force on one or the other of the ratchet devices, depending on the direction of rotation desired. It is seen that, in this arrangement, the force exerted on the pawls varies in proportion to the speed of the primary motor, so that the increased inertia to be overcome at high speeds is automatically given, the force exerted on the ratchet devices being only that which is necessary to obtain the correct operation of the apparatus at any given speed.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4 to 9, the primary motor controls a main shaft 101 having an eccentric 102 controlling the central pivots 103 of the floating lever 104 by means of the clip 105. The floating lever 104 is connected, by its ends mites, to a pair of connecting rods 106, 107, which are pivoted to levers 108, 109, the upper ends of which have their movement limited by stops 110, 11l., one of these stops or the other coming in action according to the direction of rotation of the rotor controlled on the shaft 112.
The levers 108, 109 are pivoted in the frame of the machine, and one end of the floating lever 104 oscillates the lever 113 carrying inertia masses 114, 115 at its ends, while the other end of the floating lever 104 is connected. by connecting rods 116, 117 with a pair of oscillating members 118, 119, each of which acts by the sliding member having large teeth on one side and a friction surface on the other side , to enter the rotating members of the controlled shaft 112, alternately. On each sliding member are formed bosses 120, 121, connected by rods 122, 123, with a bell lever 124, which is pivoted on a connecting rod 125 capable of movement around a fixed pivot 126.
Through the connecting rod 125 is screwed an actuating rod 127, bearing flanges or cheeks with dampers 128, 129 between them and the connecting rod 125. The rod 127 is connected to an eccentric 130 on a shaft 131 , pivoted in the frame of the machine, and the handle 132 is provided on this shaft by means of which one or the other of the shock absorbers 128, 129 can be brought into contact with the connecting rod 125, whose direction of oscillation is thus determined. By this means, traction in one direction or the other can be exerted on the two sliders, so that by simply moving the handle 132, the direction of movement can be reversed.
