Tank feather. The object of the present invention is a reservoir nib of the kind which has a protective casing from which the nib can be taken out by sliding it in the direction of the axis of the holder. pen to bring said pen to the writing position.
This feather is characterized in that the opening through which the feather leaves the envelope closes automatically each time the feather is returned there.
There is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of a reservoir feather constructed according to the present invention.
The fi-. 1 shows the pen seen from the side; The, fig. 2 is a section along the line A-A of FIG. 1; The, fi-. 3 is a section along the line X-X of FIG. 2.
The scale of this figure is larger than that of the previous ones; Fig. 4 shows part of the protective casing; Fig. 5 shows the filling lever as well as the clip at the hub of which the feather is attached to the wearer's clothing pocket; Figs. 6 and 6a concern a detail. The nib 1 is attached to a stopper 2 which closes an ink reservoir 5 in the form of a very thin rubber cap. An abductor channel passes through the stopper 2 and con ducts the ink to the nib, where this channel can be closed by a valve.
A tube 4 is fixed to the stopper 2 and carries a Bou ton 7 with which it is connected by a core 71. By means of this button, the tube 4 can be slid as well as all the parts which are adjoining it, therefore the feather 1, the cap 2, the, valve 3 and the reservoir 5, inside an outer tube 8 and this thanks to a longitudinal slot 9 provided in this outer tube and in which the core 71 of the button 7 can be move.
The upper part of the outer tube 8 is extended by a capsule 11 fixed to de meure on said tube and forming with it the protective casing of the feather. This cap sule 11 has an opening 11 through which the pen comes out of the envelope when or puts it in the writing position by means of the button 7. Between the cap 11 and the upper part of the tube 8 is clamped a spring 13 which is clamped. ends, as we see at end. C) and 6a, by a plate at right angles to the rest of the spring. This plate forms a valve and closes the opening 11.1 when the feather is inside the capsule.
When the tube 4 is pushed by means of the button 7 to make the feather come out through the opening 11, the stopper 2? slides along the ri-ssort 13 and pushes it little by little to move the valve 12. The opening l11 e51 then free and the. feather can come out.
As long as the. feather is inside the. capsule, the walls of this (Ifrni f # rc # weigh on the valve 3 which closes the Panalabduel-eur of the ink. When the pen is in position, to write, that is to say when it is on the outside of the capsule, the , z, oupa.pe 3 opens the channel and allows the arrival of ink if. the nib.
Along the ink reservoir 5 is arranged a strip. of metal 6 making it tight and fixed in the bottom of the protective tube. This lamella is used in the known manner to compress the elastic walls of the ink reservoir under the effect of a filling lever 10, pivoted in the slot 9.
When the feather is inside the protective envelope, the button 7 is in the position it has in fig. 2. It then comes out of the lower part of the lever 10 and in this way prevents this lever from being operated inappropriately.
A 1.6 abrafe is attached directly to the tube $. Its lower part is slightly curved to facilitate the introduction of the clothing part. which must be fixed the feather. Two cheeks 15 are provided cl (- each side of the. Slot 9 to protect the dozer 7 and prevent its: aetonnement during the introduction of the garment under the clip.
In the. reservoir feather described, the feather can be entered and exited immediately from the protective casing.
