Abstract
Composites de revêtement multicouches sur des substrats en verre ou sous forme d'articles transparents, comportant des couches alternées de revêtements ayant des indices de réfraction élevé et faible, qui sont essentiellement des revêtements inorganiques, pour bloquer au moins les rayons ultraviolets par une combinaison des effets d'interférence et d'absorption des couches minces. L'article à revêtement multicouche possède un substrat en verre transparent, en verre teinté, en verre solaire ou en verre coloré, qui est visuellement transparent à un degré quelconque. Le substrat est couvert par une première couche de revêtement essentiellement inorganique contenant du métal qui possède également un certain degré de transparence visuelle et possède un indice de réfraction choisi dans le groupe constitué des indices faibles et des indices élevés. La première couche de revêtement est couverte d'une deuxième couche de revêtement essentiellementnorganique contenant du métal qui est visuellement transparent à un degré quelconque et qui possède un indice de réfraction opposé à celui de la première couche. La deuxième couche de revêtement est couverte d'une troisième couche de revêtement essentiellement inorganique contenant du métal qui possède un certain degré de transparence visuelle et possède un indice de réfraction de l'ordre de celui de la première couche de revêtement. Des couches de revêtement supplémentaires peuvent être placées sur, sous ou entre ces trois premières couches de revêtement pour produire des propriétés différentes de réflexion et/ou d'absorption.
