Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a salad spinner having a bowl-like portion and a cover portion; the bowl-like portion has a smooth outwardly curved side wall which merges into a slightly downwardly curved bottom wall; the periphery of the bottom wall has spaced-apart generally identical arcuate foot portions having generally parallel side edges and rounded ends; the bottom wall has central concentric small circular areas; the cover portion has a peripheral skirt section that follows the contour of the curved side wall of the bowl-like portion; the skirt section merges through a sharp corner into a curved outer surface area of the cover portion which in turn merges into a central raised surface area which is generally elliptical in plan view; one end of the central raised surface area has curved aligned rows of generally identical and generally equally spaced-apart small circular protuberances; between the protuberances and the adjacent end of the central raised surface area is a generally triangular recessed area having rounded corners and a flat bottom surface; a member situated in the recessed area has tapered side walls and rounded ends in plan view and a generally flat top surface; a raised arcuate ridge extends across the central raised surface area close to and generally following the curvature of the inner row of protuberances; the raised arcuate ridge is generally symmetrical and has a rounded top surface which tapers downwards in elevation view on either side of a central plane of the arcuate ridge; the central area has a smooth concave surface area between the arcuate raised ridge and the adjacent edge of the central raised surface area; the concave surface area has a raised section having rounded generally parallel edges and a slightly outwardly curved top surface having a series of parallel spaced-apart generally identical narrow areas extending most of the length thereof; the end of the raised section adjacent the edge of the central area merges into a raised portion having a curved outwardly extending lip portion and a rounded slightly enlarged upper surface.
