Abstract
COMPRESSÃO DE MALHAS 3D COM PADRÕES REPETIDOS Modelos 3D de classe de engenharia habitualmente têm um grande número de componentes conectados, com números reduzidos de triângulos grandes, em geral com conectividade arbitrária. Para permitir o armazenamento compacto e a rápida transmissão de grandes modelos de malha 30, é fornecida uma estratégia de compressão eficiente especialmente projetada para modelos de malha 3D. Um método para codificar um modelo de malha 3D compreende determinar e agrupar componentes repetitivos, normalizar os componentes, sendo que os fatores de escalonamento são agrupados e os eixos geométricos de orientação são agrupados, codificar os componentes conectados utilizando referências aos grupos, e codificar por entropia os componentes conectados.
