Abstract
COMPOSIÇÕES E MÉTODOS PARA A LIBERAÇçO DE OXIGÊNIO. Proteínas H-NOX são mutadas para exibir propriedades cinéticas e termodinâmicas aumentadas ou ideais para liberação sangüínea de gás O~2~. As proteínas H-NOX projetadas compreendem mutações que transmitem ligação de ligante de O~2~ ou NO alterada em relação ao domínio de H-NOX do tipo selvagem correspondente, e são operacionais como transportadores sangúíneos de gás O~2~ em mamíferos fisiologicamente compatíveis. A invenção também fornece composições farmacêuticas, kits e métodos que utilizam proteínas H-NOX do tipo selvagem ou mutantes para o tratamento de qualquer condição para a qual a liberação de O~2~ seja benéfica.
