"INSERTOS TIPO CUNHA DE RIGIDEZ VARIáVEL PARA PNEUMáTICOS DE FUNCIONAMENTO VAZIO". Um pneumático de lona radial (86, 104) possuindo uma banda de rodagem (106), uma carcaça (96, 108) com dois costados (88a, 88b, 116a, 116b), uma estrutura de lona radial (98, 110), e uma estrutura de correia (103, 117) localizada radialmente entre a banda de rodagem e a estrutura de lona radial. Cada costado reforçado com pelo menos um inserto tipo cunha (89a, 89b, 118a, 118b, 120a, 120b) que compreende regiões alternadas (90a, 90b, 122a, 122b) de material flexível e camadas (91a, 91b, 124a, 124b) de material mais rígido. A camada (91a, 91b, 124a, 124b) de material mais rígido restringe a expansão lateral do inserto tipo cunha (89a, 89b, 118a, 118b, 120a, 120b) durante a operação de funcionamento vazio para fornecer um bom conforto de uso durante a operação de enchimento normal e um bom reforço de costado durante a operação de funcionamento vazio.
