Abstract
É proporcionado um método que gera um índice de borda de uma amostra atual, e aplica um deslocamento de borda correspondente ao índice de borda para a amostra atual. O índice de borda é gerado utilizando-se as diferenças entre uma amostra atual e duas amostras vizinhas determinadas por um tipo de deslocamento de borda. Consequentemente, a diferença entre amostras originais e amostras reconstruídas são efetivamente reduzidas pela geração do índice de borda ótimo. Além disso, a quantidade de bits exigida para reduzir as diferenças é reduzida fixando-se o sinal de deslocamento como positivo ou negativo.
