uma modalidade da presente invenção pode prover uma composição de material óptico que inclui um composto cíclico que é representado pela fórmula (1) e um epissulfeto que é representado pela fórmula (2). uma outra modalidade da presente invenção pode prover um método de produção de material óptico que inclui uma etapa em que, com relação à quantidade total da composição de material óptico, 0,0001 a 10% em peso de um catalisador de polimerização é adicionado à composição de material óptico e a composição de material óptico é curada por polimerização. (na fórmula (2), m é um número inteiro de 0 a 4, e n é um número inteiro de 0 a 2).
