aço para molas conforme a presente modalidade tem uma composição química consistindo de, em % em massa, c: 0,4 a 0,7%, si: 1,1 a 3,0%, mn: 0,3 a 1,5%, p: igual a ou menor que 0,03%, s: igual a ou menor que 0,05%, al: 0,01 a 0,05%, metal terra rara: 0,0001 a 0,002%, n: igual a ou menor que 0.015%, o: igual a ou menor que 0,0030%, ti: 0,02 a 0,1%, e como elementos opcionais, ca, cr, mo, w, v, nb, ni, cu, e b, com o saldo sendo fe e impurezas. no aço para molas, o número de inclusões de óxidos tendo um diâmetro circular equivalente de igual a ou maior que 5 ¿m é igual a ou menor que 0,2/mm2, as inclusões de óxidos sendo, cada uma, uma entre um óxido à base de al, um óxido complexo contendo rem, o e al, e um oxissulfeto complexo contendo rem, o, s, e al. além disso, o valor máximo entre os diâmetros circulares equivalentes das inclusões de óxidos é igual a ou menor que 40 ¿m.
