"MEIO DE ARMAZENAMENTO, E, MéTODO DE GRAVAçãO NO MEIO DE ARMAZENAMENTO". Um meio de armazenamento inclui uma primeira área configurada para ter dados armazenados no mesmo em um primeiro formato de gravação; uma segunda área configurada para ter dados armazenados na mesma em um segundo formato de gravação; uma tabela de gerenciamento configurada para gerenciar uma área de substituição para uma área defeituosa em uma área de dados no meio de armazenamento, a tabela de gerenciamento sendo armazenada na segunda área; uma trilha de alerta armazenada na primeira área; e um dado de gerenciamento configurado para gerenciar a tabela de gerenciamento e a trilha de alerta, o dado de gerenciamento armazenado na primeira área, caracterizado pelo fato de uma posição final da primeira área ser ajustada a uma distância predeterminada de uma posição inicial da segunda área.
