"FIBRA óTICA PARA SISTEMA DE TRANSMISSãO óTICA DE MULTIPLEXAçãO DE DIVISãO DE COMPRIMENTO DE ONDA USANDO CANAIS óTICOS DENSAMENTE ESPAçADOS". é revelada uma fibra ótica tendo um valor de dispersão desejado para suprimir suficientemente um fenómeno de não-linearidade, isto é, um fenómeno de mistura de quatro ondas, que ocorre em um espaçamento de canal de 50 GHz, enquanto minimiza a despesa consumida para uma compensação de dispersão. A fibra ótica satisfaz as características óticas definidas por um valor de dispersão de 7 a 10 ps/nm-km em um comprimento de onda de 1.550 nm, um comprimento de onda de dispersão zero de 1.450 nm ou menos, e um comprimento de onda de corte de 1.250 nm ou menos. A fibra ótica inclui um núcleo tendo um diâmetro desejado ( d~ 1~ ) e um índice de refração desejado ( n~ 1~ ), o revestimento circundando o núcleo, e tendo um índice de refração ( n~ c1~ ) menor do que o índice de refração ( n~ 1~ ) do núcleo (nc~ 1~ < n~ 1~), OU (n~ 2~) menor do, que o revestimento externo (n~ 2~ < n~ c1~). O (n~ 2~) do revestimento interno pode ser menor do que o (n~ 1~) do núcleo, e maior do que o (n~ c1~) do diâmetro externo.
