Abstract

The mechanism comprises a storage comb on which the edge stitches of the knitted textile are carried, and a series of transfer needles (pref. cam actuated) which are selectively movable to gather stitches from some of the comb teeth and transfer them to other comb teeth, the remaining stitches being held in position on the storage comb by a counter-comb. The mechanism is used in forming twisted edges.
