<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
FIG. 5 shows an embodiment detail. @
The headlight learned the invention comprises, like the usual headlights, a housing 1, a concave screen 2 and a front glass 3. However, instead of using, as usual, a switch and two bulbs, the one for the high beam, the other for the low beam, a single bulb 4 with a single filament is used, this bulb being counted d. pivoting so as to occupy a position in which it will give the high beam and a second position in which it will give the low beam.
For this purpose, the bulb 4 is mounted in a socket 5, using a plate G which will be discussed later, this socket which pivots around the point 12 comprising two concave extensions, the upper one 7, the other lower 8, rectangular in appearance and with a hearth)! different. Depending on the position of the socket in relation to point 12, it will be the lower extension 8 which will fit in a cutout 9 of the screen 2 as shown in figure 1 or else it will be the upper extension7 which will fit 'will fit in this cutout as shown in Figure 2, to form the driving beam and the crossing beam respectively. Stops 10 and 11 are provided on the extensions 7 and 8 to come into contact with the rear surface of the screen 2.
A spring element 12 is applied against the rear panel 13 or the rear panel 14 of the plate 6 depending on the position occupied by the socket 5 and the bulb 4. This spring element 17 ensures the maintenance of the. bulb, precisely and firmly, in either of the two positions. This element 12 ,; which also serves µ for grounding, is extended by a lower extension 15 ending in a hooked part 16 ensuring the closing blocking of the housing 1 on the front part 17 of the headlight. At the bottom * of the headlight, there is obviously provided a perforated tab 18 for mounting the headlight on the bicycle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The plate 6 is mounted from the rear in a sleeve 19 of the sleeve 5. In fact, the plate 6 fixes the sleeve 19 and therefore the sleeve 5 on a control shaft pivoting around its longitudinal axis of symmetry represented by point 12 in FIG. 1. This shaft comprises a portion of square section 20 between two shoulders 21 and 22 formed by portions 23 and 24 of circular section of this shaft. The shaft is in fact formed of two parts which adapt to each other at the location of the square section as shown more particularly in FIG. 5. Transversely to the adaptation surface 25 is provided a slot 28 in which is introduced the bottom or rear edge 26 (Figures 1 and 2) of a cutout
27 shown on plate 6 (Figure 1).
Of the torte, the two portions of square section of the shaft are rigidly rolled by this plate 6. The two branches 30 and 31 of the cutout 27 of this plate have serrations 29 forming no via for race. 'bulb 4 by screwing, these serrations protruding from the smooth interior surface of the sleeve S and constituting in themselves the screw thread for mounting the bulb.
Externally to the lamp, the circular section portions 23 and 24 of the control shaft each receive a control button 32, so that the change in position of the bulb of one or the other can be controlled. other hand. It is obvious that one could provide only one button 32. The passage this * portions 23 and 24 of the shaft 3'travers the casing 1 is done with the interposition of a sleeve 33 ensuring the seal.
The electrical power supply is effected by the intervention of a conductive blade, a folded part 34 of which is located inside the socket 5 (figures 1 and 3), this part extending at 35 along the square section 20 of the control shaft to end with a circular portion 36 rising around the circular section 23 of the shaft as shown in Figures 3 and 4. Around this portion 3G, fits a colored lama @@ e driving
