<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

In the introduction of motor vehicles as a means of traction in agriculture, serving to operate tools for working the soil, the common construction of motor vehicles was used with very few exceptions. In these vehicles, the engine is arranged at the front and the transmission to the rear wheels is effected by the transmission device, coaxial with the motor shaft and by a transmission device with bevel gears. Gradually, however, it became necessary to connect as many different types of implements as possible to the tractor, either in order to be able to carry out several jobs simultaneously, or for more extensive use of the tractor.
In that case; we noticed that the usual construction of vehicles did not leave space to be able to accommodate work tools.
The arrangement of a plurality of work tools, placed at various points of the tractor and which must be actuated in turn, such as, for example, mowers, requires, moreover, a special execution of the transmission of the tractor. trunnion shaft. In this case it is necessary that the trunnion shafts always turn in the same direction of rotation, regardless of whether the tractor is moving forward or backward, or at what speed it is moving; moreover, in order to be able to use the tractor widely, the reverse gear must be provided with as many different speeds as the forward gear.
The solution of the various problems enumerated is provided by the present invention which starts from the construction known per se, in which the engine is placed at the rear part of the vehicle.
EMI1.2
According to the invention, the actuator is disposed transversely to the axis of the engine and parallel to the axis of the wheels, a transmission device with bevel and straight gears being interposed between the coupling shaft, arranged. coaxially with the motor shaft and the gear change,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
while the gear change countershaft operates on the wheel shafts via spur gears, fitted with a compensating device, and a lateral final drive.
According to the invention, the axes of the intermediate shaft of the conical pins and of the two gearshift shafts are moved in a vertical plane and the axes of the gearshift countershaft, of the gearshift shaft. motor for the rear axle and wheel shafts are moved in a horizontal plane. According to the invention, the bevel gear reversal, disposed at the end of the coupling shaft, is connected, on the one hand, by a spur gear transmission with the speed change, and, on the other hand, it is connected to the journal shaft, once directly by a belt transmission and again by a transmission with bevel gears and spur gears.
This arrangement of the transmission device allows all the essential parts of the device to be housed in a common housing, that is to say, the coupling, the bevel gear reversal with the transmission to the shaft. journal and intermediate transmission, speed change, spur gear transmission with compensation device for actuating the drive shaft of the axis. Advantageously, said housing is only divided in the plane of the axes of the transmission shaft of the gear change and of the transmission shafts of the rear axle. On the one hand, the motor housing can be fixed directly, on the other hand, the two final transmission housings, laterally surrounding the block of the transmission mechanism in U, can be fixed by flanges on said housing.
According to the invention, this common unit, engine-transmission device, is arranged so that the central plane, intersecting the axis of the engine perpendicularly, corresponds approximately to a vertical plane passing through the axis of the rear wheels.
Under certain circumstances it may also be advantageous for this block to be arranged rotatably in the tractor frame. In this case, the block is additionally supported, in an articulated manner, on a fixed point of the frame. Due to the described arrangement of the transmission mechanism, the casing can be shaped such that it is possible to provide niches in the space determined by the exterior planes of the casing. Other parts, for example, a hydraulic compression cylinder (batteries or the like) providing the power for the actuation and the service of the various agricultural implements, can be embedded in these niches.
The object of the invention is to obtain a very reduced construction and to concentrate the weight as much as possible above the axes of the rear wheels, moreover, it is advantageous that the fuel tank is disposed above. engine and that the driver's seat is provided above the transmission housing, in front of the engine. The fuel tank is advantageously articulated to a support provided on the engine crankcase and, in this case, rests on the radiator, placed behind the engine.
In this connection it is also advantageous to arrange the shaft used for the transmission from the bevel gear reversal, by a spur gear transmission, up to the gear change, so as to be able to move it and make its end in the form of a grooved shaft, so that it can be coupled each time with one of the two conical pins rotating in the opposite direction. In this way the direction of travel is reversed and both forward and reverse it is possible to work with all the speeds of the gear change.
One embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of the essential parts of the transmission device, in so far as they are necessary for understanding the invention.

transmission.
Figure 3 shows a side view of the engine block-transmission device, recessed
In the arrangement shown in FIG. 1, the coupling shaft 1 of the coupling, not shown, ends in a reverse gear transmission with bevel gears 2, 3, 4, the gears 3 and 4 of which rotate in the direction of rotation opposite when the engine is engaged. The non-conical pig-rod 3 is placed on the shaft 5 which carries at its other end a non-straight pig-rod 6 which meshes with the spur gear 7, arranged on the main shaft 8 of the speed change. In the arrangement shown, the conical pigs 3 and 4 are arranged in the bearings 3 'and 4'.
The shaft 5 can move axially and its ends are provided with grooved shafts 5 'and 5 "so that the shaft 5, by permanently driving the spur gear 6, can be coupled either with the bevel gear 3, either with the bevel gear 4, thus determining the forward or reverse direction of the vehicle. It is essential that the power transmission from the coupling shaft, arranged longitudinally, is deflected by 90 by a transmission with bevel gears and is then transmitted by the spur gear transmission 6, 7 to the gear change, via shafts arranged transversely. By the spur gear transmission 10,
11 takes place the subsequent transmission from the gear change countershaft 9 to the transmission shafts 12 of the axle and, from this, via the final drives to spur gears 13, 14 up to the wheel axles 15. A compensation device is embedded, in a known manner, in the spur gear 11.
The trunnion shaft transmission is directly disconnected by one of the reversing bevel gears, that is to say, by the bevel gear 4 connected to the shaft 16 (fig. 2). Said shaft leads to a transmission of the reverse gear to bevel gears 17, 18, 19, the transverse shafts 20 and 21 of which are equipped with spur gears 22 and 23 which serve to connect the journal shafts.
In addition, a belt disc 25 can be actuated directly by the bevel gear 17, through the shaft 24,
Figure 3 shows the arrangement of the different shafts with respect to each other, I, II, III are the axes of the intermediate bevel gear shaft 5, of the main shaft 8 and of the countershaft 9 change of speed and are therefore placed one below the other in a vertical plane while IV and V represent the axes of the axis 12 transmission shafts and of the wheel axles 15 which are arranged, with the countershaft 9. in a horizontal plane; therefore the two planes form a right angle open towards the motor.
All these parts of the transmission device :, including the coupling and the flywheel disc are enclosed in a common casing 26 which is only subdivided in the plane of axes III, IV, V. The motor casing 27 is fixed. by flanges to the casing of the transmission device, so that the two joined together form a common block which is fixed in the axis IV on the chassis 28 of the tractor.
This fixing can be carried out so that the block is rotatably arranged in the chassis.
The block is supported, by means of an arm 29, by an articulation point 30, against a part 31 of the frame The fixing of the block, motor-transmission device 26, 27 is carried out so that the vertical central plane 32 of the engine corresponds approximately with the vertical plane 33 comprising the V axis.
In the illustrated example a hydraulic compression cylinder 34, providing power for the various auxiliary agricultural implements is recessed in a recess of the housing 26.
In this type of construction ;, the gasoline tank is advantageously arranged above the engine 27, in this case it can be tilted over.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
turn of a support arm 36 by means of an articulation or a hinge 35, on the other hand, it rests on the radiator 37.
The driver's seat 38 is arranged in this case in front of the engine, above the casing of the transmission device.
