POTEAUX EN BETON'ARME, PROCEDE'DE FABRICATION DE CES POTEAUX ET INSTAL-
LATIONS EN VUE DE LA REALISATION DU PROCEDE. -
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

ARMED CONCRETE POSTS, PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING THESE POSTS AND INSTALLATION
LATIONS WITH A VIEW TO CARRYING OUT THE PROCESS. -
The present invention relates to reinforced and vibrated concrete poles and to the processes and installations for manufacturing these poles.
It relates in particular to a column profile giving rise to various advantages which will be listed below, and consisting in that the column has a rectangular section with rounded edges.
According to the invention also posts having such a section and also those having a section similar to it such as for example a rectangular section, are manufactured by means of prefabricated reinforcements and connected to each other by brackets fixed to the reinforcements by welding. .
An installation for carrying out the method comprises, in essential order, trestles on each of which are fixed in superimposed positions, two plates or two bars provided with notches intended to receive the reinforcing bars.
The accompanying drawings are intended to show how the invention can be carried out in practice.
Figure 1 is intended to represent a particularly advantageous column section.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the installation which can be used for the prefabrication of the reinforcements.
Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view showing by way of non-limiting example a mold which can be used
Thus gue that emerges from FIG. 1, a characteristic of the invention consists in giving a reinforced and vibrated concrete pole intended to serve as a support for the electrical distribution lines, a rectangular section as shown at 1 in this figure, with rounded edges 2. This angle of curvature varies from 35 to 40 mmo
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The transverse dimensions of the posts are a function of the distance from the top and vary according to a linear formula so as to obtain a support of substantially equal strength.
This form of post gives rise to various advantages which hitherto have not yet been obtained simultaneously and which are in summary the following: a) greatly increased resistance to shocks; b) better distribution of the concrete around the reinforcements; c) more refined exterior appearance by the almost complete elimination of air bubbles during vibration; d) elegant shape allowing the use of these poles for public lighting in built-up areas; e) small footprint and significantly less than in the case of double T poles; f) reduced weight.
In order to manufacture these posts a method is preferably used in which the reinforcement is prefabricated and in which the main reinforcing bars 3, usually of very hard steel, are connected to each other by stirrups 4, usually of mild steel, which are. welded (in 5) to the bars 3.
When this method is put into practice, use is made for each type of post of horses 6 (fig. 2) having appropriate dimensions and provided with flats 7 which are fixed to them so as to occupy a horizontal position and on the field (fig. 2). These dishes 7 can be spaced on the same easel at distances varying from 1 to 2 meters.
Each plate is provided with notches 8 each intended to receive a frame 3 (Fig. 2).
The trestles being arranged, as shown in FIG. 2, the two series of frames 3 are put in place so that the same frame rests in notches 7 occupying corresponding positions on the various uprights located at the same level. . These bars are placed in the notches so as to immediately obtain the desired spacing in any section of the column.
The brackets 4 can then be welded, for example by means of the electric arc, on the four faces of the reinforcements.
Each caliper is obtained by cutting from a strip or bar of relatively large length, then by bending before welding.
In the completed column, the concrete sections provided are sufficient to compensate for the various shearing forces so that the stirrups only serve to constitute a rigid assembly, after the frame has been released from the trestles.
Each mold (figo 3) is composed of three bases: 9, 10 and 11, one of which 9 is arranged horizontally and of which the other two 1011 are placed vertically and simply rest on the base 9 by rounded corners 21 corresponding to the rounded corners 2 that the finished post must have (figo 1).
The funds 10 and 11 are spaced with respect to each other to the extent fixed by the width of the post and are held by angles 12 fixed to the bottom 9 by steel pins 13 or any other members and keys,
The. heads of the molds are provided with holes which are drilled in the bases 10 and 11 and into which pins 14 are introduced horizontally.
At the same time, other pins 15 are placed vertically in the axis of the mold and are guided on the one hand by holes drilled in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
bottom 9 and on the other hand by holes drilled in irons U 1-6 ¯ fixed on the upper edges of the lateral sides 10-11 using angles 17.
The branches 18 of the U irons pass au.travers notches provided in the folds 22 of the sides 10-11 and the wing which brings them together is pro-longe la = terally far enough to allow attachment to the angles 17 for example by pins 190
After the above-described assembly of the mold, four or five electric vibrators are fixed, for example, by means of bolts or wedge pins on the upper part. In this way, an intense vibration is obtained which is transmitted over the entire surface of the mold. Concrete, made as dry as possible, is fed into it by means of shovels and distributed over the entire length.
When the mold is completely filled, the current is turned off and the rods 14 which held the reinforcement at constant spacing from the edges of the mold are removed. This results in an equal coverage of concrete on the reinforcement everywhere.
After removal of the rods 14, the concrete is vibrated again for a few seconds to make the mass homogeneous again and the manufacture is completed by smoothing the upper part of the post.
Two or three hours later, the pins 15 are removed, leaving the holes they have formed.
This method has the advantage of allowing a much reduced manufacturing time since the side sides 10-11 can be removed after a relatively short time.
In addition, -: the shape adopted for the post allows an easy departure of air bubbles which is not possible in particular in the case of double To-profiles
Finally, one obtains the possibility of varying in large proportions the ratio of the force in the longitudinal direction to the force in the transverse direction and this thanks to the reinforcements 31 (figo 1) which can be provided in number. suitable on one of the vertical sides or on both sides.
The method of manufacture described above is particularly suitable for the manufacture of poles having the shape which emerges from FIG. 1.
It can however be applied with a view to the manufacture of posts having other shapes and in particular a rectangular or square shape, and the invention therefore also extends to posts having shapes other than those of FIG. 1, but having been obtained by the means illustrated by FIGS. 2 and 30
