"Improved transmission device".
The present invention relates to improvements to energy transmission devices.
The invention relates more particularly to a new compact mechanism of the planetary type, capable of transmitting the energy of a control shaft to a shaft controlled at different speeds, and comprising a planetary wheel with an internal toothed ring gear. with a hypocycloldal pinion, secured by a flexible connection element or appropriate change of direction, to an epicyclic pinion meshing with an outer toothed ring of said planetary wheel.
The invention aims to provide a transmission device

Extremely simple, economical, and very wide application possibility, and also to realize a coupling device for two rotating axes not aligned and spaced from each other.
The characteristics of the subject of the present invention will emerge clearly from an examination of two non-limiting exemplary embodiments described in detail below and shown diagrammatically in the appended drawing.
FIG. 1 is a side view with partial section of a transmission device according to the invention.
FIG. 2 is an identical view of an alternative embodiment comprising a pair of pinions arranged angularly with respect to one another, the length of the coupling device thus being reduced.
Figure 3 is a partial enlarged view of the coupling device.
According to FIG. 1, the object of the invention consists essentially of a fixed planetary wheel in the form of a crown l, bearing on a foot 2. The crown 1 has an external toothing 1a and an internal toothing lb of the same diameter. . A hydpcoy; oïdal pinion 3 meshes with the internal teeth elb, and can rotate around the eccentric end 4 of an axis passing axially through the crown 1, the hub 6 of which projects from the foot 2. The end of the axis 5 is packed a pulley 2 which can be controlled by any suitable motor means.
A large toothed disc 8 can rotate around the hub of the crown; this toothed disc 8 is integral with a small pulley 2 and it meshes with a toothed pinion 10, integral with a pin 11 bearing on the foot 2 and further comprising a pulley 12 constituting the output element of the device .
Close to its circumference, the large toothed disc 8 supports an end of axis 13, integral with an epicyclic pinion 14, engre-

nant with the outer teeth of the crown 1.
A coupling 15 connects the axes of the pinions 3, and 14; one could, for this purpose, use a flexible cable of the "Bowden" type. Preferably, however, application will be made of the change of direction coupling device characteristic of the invention, illustrated in more detail in FIG. 3.
This coupling device comprises a sleeve 15, the two ends of which are secured to the axes of the pinions 3-14 respectively; inside this sleeve 15 is mounted a series of pins 16 bearing on either side toothed pinions 17, meshing with toothed rings 19, arranged inside sleeves 18. The toothed pinions 17 are biconical , their two toothed conical surfaces meshing with said toothed rings 19, arranged pair by pair respectively towards each end of the sleeves 18. By adjusting the longitudinal position of the rings 19 in the sleeve 18 and / or by adjusting the longitudinal position of the biconi pinions - ques 17 on their axis 16, any play occurring in this coupling device can be taken up.
The pins 16 and the sleeves 18 are guided by ball bearings 20 bearing on cross members 21 of the sleeve 15, the latter preferably being formed of two laterally separable halves; end sleeves 18 are connected respectively to the pinions 3 and 14.
When the pulley 2 receives any driving force, the hypocycloidal pinion 3. will roll on the internal teeth lb of the crown 1 which results in its rotational movement, this rotation being transmitted, via the coupling device, to the epicyclic pinion 14; the latter rolls on the external teeth 1a of the ring gear 1 and drives the toothed disc 8, which turns the small pinion 10. The driving force can then be taken on the pulley 9, or at a higher speed, on the pulley 12.

FIG. 2 shows schematically an alternative embodiment of the object of the invention, in which the fixed sun gear 22 has external and internal teeth, respectively 22a-22b, arranged angularly with respect to one another; the toothed pinions 23-24 respectively are mounted on their respective axes 25-26, which in this case are curved so that they form approximately an angle of 30 with the vertical.
The operation of this device is exactly the same as that of the device of Figure 1, in which it has the advantage that the length of the coupling device 22 is reduced.
