Ce beroeau b est assemblé (par exemple,comme représenté, au moyen d'un goujon b6, comportant une fente dans laquelle est enfoncée une lame, en forme de cein,b7) à l'aile horizontale cl d'une équerre e; celle-ci peut pivoter dans un plan vertical de- vant un secteur vertical d, fixé à sa partie inférieure à une couronne e,pouvant tourner sur un chemin de roulement circulaire !, de position fixe sur la tourelle ; àcet effét, le secteur d est embrassé, à sa partie inférieure (qui prend appui sur les faces extérieure ' et supérieure de la couronne e, fig.3),par les ailes verticales gl de deux cornières , g, qui sont fixées par serrage par des agrafes g2 à la couronne mobile e;

La bande de cartouches 2 est l?gée dans la bofte-maga- sin 1,1 (avec la pointe des cartouches dirigée vers le centre de courbure de la boite) sur une ou plusieurs épaisseurs, suivant la longueur de cette bande; elle est supportée de distance en distance par des cloisons 1 2, consistant en des pièces en tôle,ri- vées au fond 1 1 de la boîte;

Feeding device for machine guns, more particularly for machine guns mounted on a turret, for airplanes or the like.
The present invention relates to a feed device for machine guns, characterized in that the band of cartridges is brought from the magazine to the feed passage of the weapon by passing over rotating guide members and is bent, when entering the feed corridor, following a curve whose center is located on the side of the tips of the cartridges in the strip, that is to say that the concavity of this curve is directed towards the front of tear.
An irreproachable power supply is thus obtained, whatever the angular position of the machine gun due to its point in height or in direction.
This power supply device is more particularly applicable to a machine gun, mounted on a turret, for airplanes or the like. According to the invention, the machine gun is shown in a support cradle, able to receive, for the height aiming, an angular movement in a vertical plane, and to be

Figs. 6,7 and 8 are transverse vertical sectional views taken along lines 6-6,7-7 and 8-8 of fig. 5, respectively;
Fig. 9 shows a variant of the magazine for the cardboard belt.
As shown more particularly in figs.1,2 and 3, the machine gun a is resiliently mounted in a cradle b, having substantially a U-shape in cross section; . to this end, the lower rear part of the weapon is fixed by a horizontal pin a1 in a U-shaped piece, a2, itself fixed to an auxiliary cradle bl, which can pivot on the cradle b around a horizontal axis b2; this auxiliary cradle is supported, laterally relative to the weapon, by means of a blade, forming a spring, b3, on the middle part of a second blade-rcs- leaves b4, bent in the opposite direction and taking it - same support at its ends on the cradle b.
These two blades are held together in their middle part by a stud ,, ± 5 passing through the lugs of these blades. It follows that the auxiliary cradle b1, in which the weapon is fixed, can oscillate elastically, by a certain angle, in a vertical plane, around the horizontal axis b2, in the main cradle b, the latter. ci remaining fixed.
This beroeau b is assembled (for example, as shown, by means of a stud b6, comprising a slot in which is driven a blade, in the form of a belt, b7) to the horizontal wing cl of a square e; the latter can pivot in a vertical plane in front of a vertical sector d, fixed at its lower part to a crown e, which can rotate on a circular raceway!, in a fixed position on the turret; to this effect, the sector d is embraced, at its lower part (which bears on the outer 'and upper faces of the crown e, fig. 3), by the vertical wings gl of two angles, g, which are fixed by clamping by staples g2 to the mobile crown e;
on the other hand,

the flanges l of these angles are clamped on the lower part of 3 :: tr- end: .ity of the sector d by a bolt! J3. The square o- cl-c peu- !. move a11air3ment in front of sector d on revolving around .z :: fuller CI'u ::.: dl, crossing the sector near its lower end and connecting the bzz elements of the quadrangle.
A rod h passes through this hollow bolt dl, acting at one of its ends on the tail of a le7ier .hl, which is:,: on- té with pivot in 2 on the internal face of the crown movable jē the lower part, bent outwards, h '', of this lever engages under the lower edge of the inner circumference of the fixed raceway f; a la: .eh, conv8nJ10ent bent so as to form a spring and resting on one of the angles g and on a stud h5 of the le.-rier hl, constantly tends to rotate this lever so as to move its lower bent part away h3 from the lower edge of the raceway.

to be able to move the crown e, and consequently the square c, 1 = hoop b and Ilarrne a supported by this crown, it is enough that the operator makes pi.-remove the lever 1-il, in the direction of the arrow A (tī2), by a-laughing to the cain on the iras 1 from this lever; under the action of the. the: .¯: -spring h, the lower angled part h ') of the lever hl, h 2 moves away from the lower edge of the roller cher'lin-

ment f, so that the crown e can receive any angular displacement on this raceway, so as to allow aiming in the direction of the machine gun.
As soon as the servant of this one releases the arm 1.of lever 1-il, the crown e is immediately immobilized on the raceway f by the tightening of the lower angled part h3 of the lever h1, h2 on the lower edge of this raceway f.
In the upper side j4, of tubular form, of the frame @@, is l @ gé a pin which, under the action of a coil spring K1, engages in one of the holes d2, drilled in an arc of a circle, at the upper part of the sector d, passing through corresponding holes in the elements of the square c, c2; this stud k thus forms a lock, by embedding the square c, and consequently the cradle b for supporting the machine gun a, in an angular position determined in a vertical plane on the sector d.
Oven release the bolt k from the hole d2 of the sector d, the servant acts, in the direction of the arrow B (fig. 2), on the shank k 2 of a lever k3, pivoted in k4 on the side j4 of the frame 1 and articulated in k5 to a part k6, partially engaged in an axial slot of the bolt-bolt k; this part k6 thus pushes the latch k to the left, compressing the spring kl, and making it come out of the hole d2 of the sector ci; the servant can then move the square c, and consequently the cradle b supporting the machine gun, in a vertical plane in front of the sector d, for the height aiming of the machine gun;
when he has brought the weapon to the desired angular position relative to the vertical, he can let go of the tail! 2 of the lever k, so that the latch k engages, under the action of the spring kl, in the hole d2 of the sector d corresponding to this angular position and engages the square and the support cradle of the weapon in this elevation position.
As stated above, owing to the elastic mounting of the weapon in its cradle, the servant can communicate to the weapon a height aim of a few degrees /. without nesting the

The n2 and o studs are provided with a head with an arm or ear, n3 and 03, respectively, to facilitate tightening or loosening operations.
The strip of cartridges 2 is light in the magazine box 1.1 (with the tip of the cartridges directed towards the center of curvature of the box) over one or more thicknesses, depending on the length of this strip; it is supported from distance to distance by partitions 1 2, consisting of sheet metal parts, riveted to the bottom 11 of the box;
these partitions are (as shown more particularly in fig. 8) inclined from the inside to the outside at their upper part, on which the band of cartridges rests it follows that the weight of the cartridges tends to move the tips away. cartridges from the inner face of the box, thereby reducing the friction of the cartridge strip on the box and hence the effort required to drive this strip and feed the cartridges into the box. armed. The magazine box is closed by a cover 14, in several hinged parts. The partitions 12 are of a height such that there remains between them and the movable cover 14 a sufficient space to allow the sliding of the strip without the latter being able to tumble.
The strip of cartridges p, on leaving the Tapas box, is placed under a guide roller 13, journaled in the walls of this box (fig.l and 5), then on other guide rollers rotating q, q, journaled in a frame with articulated elements q1, q2; this in turn is articulated with a certain play in rl to a corridor r, slidably mounted on the feed corridor proper s of the machine gun.

The cases and links connecting the cartridges, exiting through the ejection window of the weapon, are collected by a passage t, raceordered to this window (fig.1); the lower part of this corridor t is extended by a bag tl, which opens into another bag u, suspended from a circle u1, itself attached to clips u2 fixed to the crown e.
Fig. 9 shows a variant of the cartridge magazine box, in which the latter extends only over a much smaller arc of a circle (for example over 60); this sheet metal box v, in the form of a segment, is deeper and can receive the strip of cartridges folded back on itself on a,:, rand number of layers or thicknesses; this strip passes over a guide roller vl before going to the feed; this box is supported on a metal frame v2, hooked at its upper ends, in v3, to the movable ring support e of the netting machine; this frame comprises v4 arms retaining the box v on its underside.
