The present invention relates to a door with superimposed elements, articulated between them and. capable of moving with the aid of rolling means on rails allows both to perform the opening movement in two successively vertical and horizontal directions so that the open door is in a position substantially parallel to the ground, characterized in that the articulation between two elements is produced using at least two hinges arranged at the ends of said elements, each of these hinges being arranged so as to form the support of a rod supporting a rolling device intended to be move on a rail,
the distance between said rod and. the element being capable of being adjusted during assembly to ensure the support of said elements against a frame surrounding the door.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the door according to the invention.
The fi-. 1 is a section of a room whose opening is closed by said door.
Fig. 2 shows in section a rolling device.
Fig. 3 is a variant of a rolling device.
Fig. 4 shows, on a larger scale, the articulation bringing together two elements.
Figs. 5 and 6 represent, on a larger scale, the joints and the rolling devices seen in profile, respectively from the right and from the left. Fig. 7 shows a rolling device placed at. the end of the upper element.
Fig. 8 shows a guideway for the rolling device shown in FIG. 6.
Fig. 9 is a schematic view of a compensation device.
Figs. 10 and 11 show a closure device, seen from the front, respectively, and in plan with section.
The door shown comprises four superimposed elements 1.a, 1b, 1c, the constituted by a wooden frame covered on the outside by an aluminum foil 2. This also covers. partially the edge of the elements, which are cut at an angle.
The opening and closing movements take place in two directions along rails having a vertical part 3a and a horizontal part 3 '', these two parts being joined by a curve 3c ,. These rails consist of a round tube fixed using supports to the wall of the room. The vertical part 31 is slightly inclined, it is placed behind the door and the spacing between the two rails is greater than the width of the door.
The movements of the elements on the rails are carried out using rolling devices each mounted on the articulation of said elements. These devices are constituted by a rod 4 integral, at one of its ends, with a plate 5 supporting two pins 6 on which are mounted rollers 7 intended to roll on the rail, one above, the other. below, when the. door rolls on the horizontal part of the rail.
The rolling surface of the rollers is such that the contact between said surface and the rail is of a very limited extent. The gaets shown in fig. 2 form. truncated cones and have a rolling surface in the form of an arc of a circle, the radius of this arc being greater than that of the rail.
The rollers 7 are pierced with a hole in which is fixed a metal sleeve 8 intended to allow easy rotation on the axis 6. The end thereof has a groove forming the housing for a ring-spring 9 intended to retain the roller.
Another embodiment of the rolling device, not shown in the drawing, consists in arranging the rollers so as to maintain the spacing of the rails. For this purpose, the two rollers are mounted on parallel axes integral with a plate 5, but one of them is turned over and rotates on an axis of sufficient length for it to be placed on the other side. of the tube. The end of this pin then comprises a fixed stop, constituted for example by the head of a bolt, the other end of which is screwed into the plate 5 and then riveted.
A variant of the rolling device shown in FIG. 3, intended in particular for very heavy doors, consists in mounting three rollers 7a on axes integral with a plate 5a, these rollers being arranged in a triangle so that the door is supported by two axes when it is in the open position. complete. We could provide, in this case, a recess horizontal rail, on which the lower roller would roll.
The rolling devices are mounted on integral hinge members 10 forming the articulations between the elements. The rod 4 is fixed to a part 12 constituted by two parallel plates each mounted at one end of the axis of the hinge 10 on the one hand and, on the other hand, joined together by a socket parallel to the 'axis of said hinge and having a hole 11 in which the rod 4 is placed, said part 12 being capable of pivoting about the axis of said hinge. The distance between an element of the door and the rod 4 is different for each rolling device, because the vertical part of the rail is not parallel to the frame against which the door is to be applied.
The device placed at the. base of the lower element does not include an adjustment member, the distance between the rail and this device being determined at. the advance according to the dimensions of the rolling device. The position of the rods 4 mounted on the upper articulations is adjusted by means of hinges 13 (fig. 4) fixed, on the one hand, to a plate 15 secured to the part 12, by welding points and, on the other hand, to the door element, when the position of the rod 4 of the rolling device is determined by varying the inclination of the room 12.
When the door is assembled, the elements are slid from the end of the horizontal rails to bring them into their final closed position. Each element is applied against the frame, then the hinges 13 are moved until the gaets are in the correct position. The hinges 13 are then fixed to the element, using wood screws. As one moves away from the ground, the distance between the frame 14 and the rails becomes phis large.
The end of the top element is. provided with a rolling device, shown in fig. 7, consisting of a fixed axis 16 on which are mounted. end to end two rollers 7b opposed by their part of small diameter.
This provision is provided for this rolling device. can be moved onto two different guide means during maneuvers. Indeed, at the start of the opening movement and at the end of the closing movement, this device rolls in a guide path 17, shown in FIG. 8, constituted by deus:
parallel metal bands, joined by spacers 17a in the general shape of a U. This path allows the last element to be pressed against the frame, while saving space in height, because to obtain this even support without resorting to the guide path 17, the rails should. climb much higher. Said. path is. connected to the tube at one of its ends, the other being fixed to the frame surrounding the door. This is the large diameter reach of the upper extreme roller (it rolls in the guide path 17 as soon as the rail disappears, ie at the start of curve 3 1 .
The inner roller which rolled on the rail at the start of the closing movement along the horizontal part 3 "no longer bears on said rail from the start of curve 3, the rolling therefore taking place on the tread lower of path 17 by the extreme pebble.
The opening movement is effortless; a slight push is enough. This ease of movement is obtained with the aid of a compensation device which, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 9, is fixed to the upper cross member of the frame surrounding the door.
This device is made up of two spells 18 each acting on a cable 19 attached, on the one hand, to the lower part of the door and, on the other hand, to the axis of a pulley 20. The cable is linked to the spring by means of a pulley 21. The pulley 20 is mounted on a pulley holder 20g constituting a hinge, one of the two parts of which is fixed to the frame, the other on which is held the axis of the pulley 20, being able to be seen slack.
In order to obtain complete opening of the room, the running devices placed at the base of the lower element must only include a roller, which must be located above the rail when the door is open.
Depending on the length of the elements, one or more ordinary hinges are fixed to said elements in the space between the two hinges 10 intended to support the rolling devices.
The door is locked using two transverse closing bars 22, 22g, the ends of which are intended to penetrate into components placed on both sides of the door (see fig. 10 and 11). These two bars are capable of being moved using a disk 23 capable of. be driven from the outside by a handle 27, another handle 24, in the shape of a U whose end of the branches is riveted to the disc 23, presenting at the base of said branches two bearing surfaces forming the pivots of the closing bars.
The disc further comprises a notch 25 in which is intended to penetrate the bolt of an ordinary lock 26 capable of being actuated from the outside with a key and from the inside using a solid-state button. said lock.
