<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

maintaining the movement at a certain distance from the back 6 by placing on the bottom of the element 3 intermediate pieces such as studs screwed or adjusted in this bottom.
Finally, the jacket 8 can be replaced by a cap resting in the bottom of the interior element and supporting the movement. In this case, the bottom of the lower element will be reinforced by the bottom of such a cap. * The outer surface of the inner element 2 which is located opposite the inner surface of the element 3, is provided with grooves 11 capable of receiving rubber, paraffin, grease or a similar plastic material to increase the sealing of the housing.
The embodiment of Figure 2 applied to a wrist watch differs essentially from that shown in Figure 1, in that the upper element 12 is inside the lower element 13.
The other parts of this figure are analogous to the corresponding parts of figure 1.
A bevel 14 is provided to facilitate the extraction of the inner element 12 from the outer element 13.
In the two embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the two elements constituting the housing are fitted with gentle friction and their degree of fitting is limited by the stop of the inner element against the bottom of the outer element, so to always leave a housing for the movement.
In these cases, we must naturally provide the necessary openings for the passage of the stem of the winder or any other control member of the movement of the watch.
In FIG. 3, seen from the side, a case for a wristwatch has been shown comprising two elements similar to those of FIG. 1, furthermore with a safety closure system for the case. bozThis system includes two eyelets in the shape of small tubes

large that the winding crown 35 is screwed on. Said studs so as to secure the two elements of the casing.
It is also possible to use a éorou of smaller diameter than the winder and concealed under it, provided that there is sufficient height so that, when the winder is in the withdrawn position, called the time-setting position. , we can unscrew the éoou and release it from the studs to allow the housing to be opened.
Instead of threading the studs, they can be provided with a notch or the like in which a ring or clamp can be fixed which clamps the two studs and ensures the closure.
Laigure 6 shows a case for a watch in which the outer element is provided with a notch 40 in which is housed a tube 41 integral with the inner element and intended to receive the stem of the winder. This rod is shown diagrammatically at 42 and its crown is preferably provided with a groove intended to receive the end of the tube 41 when the rod is pushed into place in the position suitable for assembly.
Instead of such a tube, each element can be provided with a half tube which fits into the winding stem.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the number, the arrangement and the constitution of the elements involved in its. realization without departing from the scope of the present patent.
