<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Improvements to hair clips and others.
Hair bars and the like generally include a closure device using the elasticity of a clasp which is articulated on the body of said bar and which must deform elastically to engage on a projection integral with the latter and to get out of it; this method of closing the bar does not present absolute safety since elasticity alone opposes opening and risks not constituting a sufficient obstacle when the bar is subjected to an accidental tearing force or when
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
traps too much thickness of the ankle or clothing that tends to make it open.
Sometimes used in combination with this positive closing die a safety member serving to prevent the separation of the elastic branches of the. closing but, in addition to making the bar heavier, it appreciably complicates the manufacture and use of the latter
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and its object is a bar provided with a closing device of very simple construction and nevertheless ensuring absolute closing security.
For this purpose the engagement of the arti clasp, - culée the back of the bar is obtained by means of a slider which acts as a lock and which is maintained in its locking position by an elastic thrust exerted on it by the clasp itself. This thrust can be produced very simply by the effect of a suitable camber of the part of the clasp on which the slide bears.
The shape of this camber may be such that the thrust holding the slide in the engagement position is all the stronger as the pressure exerted on the clasp by the hair ,. clothing etc ... 'and tending to open it is itself larger, so that the security is complete,
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention,

locking, it remains pushed towards the end of the. clasp by the oblique pressure of the ramps 3b. Under these conditions, it maintains the clasp in an absolutely safe manner since any force exerted on the bar or on the clasp in the opening direction increases the thrust of the ramps 3b on the slide towards the end of the clasp.
This slide can therefore be returned to the unlocking position (mixed treatment) only by a desired action of the toigt which forces it to pass again over the cambra. re 3a.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above as an example and that it is possible, without departing from it, to modify the shape in any suitable manner. of the various parts 3, 4 and 5, the principle of the invention residing essentially in the fact of immobilizing the hinged clasp of a bar or pin at the. by means of a slide which is guided on the back of the bar which cooperates with a curved part of this clasp.
At. instead of being formed by a metal wire, the closure can be obtained by cutting the plate or in any other suitable way.
It is not essential that the clasp be hollowed out, because the slide could also be shaped so as to grip the clasp by its edges, etc.
