<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

longitudinale selon 3-3 de la figure 2, les deux conduits de l'appareil , La figure 4 est une coupe selon 4-4 de la figure 3 j La figure 5 est une vue en élévation latérale montrant l'ensemble du corps de chauffe de l'appareil selon cette invention ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

This invention relates to a central heating installation, provided with a hot water circuit for domestic use (so-called "sanitary" water) and comprising a heating device comprising an envelope. or ferrule, the lower part of which is provided with a burner and on which there is wound or not a duct of the heating circuit which then passes through a bundle of fins located at the upper part of the casing.
Installations of this type are known in which the domestic hot water circuit comprises a second conduit passing through the bundle of fins, in intimate thermal connection with the first conduit in which the heating water circulates. French patent N * 1 332 607 describes such an installation in which the intimate thermal connection between the first duct (heating water circuit) and the second duct (sanitary water circuit) is obtained by joining the two ducts so to constitute a double-passage tube which crosses the fins, this tube having a section of suitable shape, for example circular or elliptical.
Heating installations are also known in which the intimate thermal contact between the two conduits, respectively of the heating water circuit and of the domestic water circuit, is obtained by incorporating one of the conduits into the other, these two conduits then being produced in the form of two concentric tubes passing through the bundle of fins of the heating appliance.
The present invention refers to heating devices of the type mentioned above and it is distinguished by a new arrangement of the heating and domestic water circuits, making it possible to improve the heat exchanges between these two circuits and increase the efficiency of the device.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The heating device according to the invention is characterized in that the duct of the heating water circuit has a substantially oval section and that of the domestic water circuit has a circular section, in that the water duct sanitary, in the crossing of the fins of the device, is incorporated in the heating water duct and joined against a wall of the heating circuit and in that at least one heat recovery fin is interposed between the domestic water and heating water pipes.
According to a characteristic of this invention, the domestic water pipe is disposed in the heating water pipe so as to be in contact with the two side walls of this pipe and two heat recovery fins are provided which are arranged longitudinally in the heating water pipe.
According to another characteristic of this invention, the sanitary water pipe is attached to the heating water pipe on the circular surface common to the two pipes, these two pipes possibly being welded along this common circular surface.
According to another characteristic of this invention, the heat recovery fins are welded to the two ducts and they comprise a longitudinal partition arranged along the axis of the heating duct, a circular portion welded to the domestic water duct and two fins side.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the domestic water pipe can be welded or brazed against the wall or walls of the heating water pipe and, preferably, the heat recovery fins advantageously have a thickness greater than the thickness of the tube itself in order to further improve heat exchange.
According to another characteristic of this invention, the duct of the heating circuit has a flared part at its exit from the fin bundle of the heating appliance, in order to allow the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
connection of these two circuits to the incoming and outgoing pipes for cold and hot water respectively.
Other characteristics and advantages of this invention will emerge from the description given below with reference to the appended drawings which illustrate exemplary embodiments thereof without any limiting character. In the drawings: FIG. 1 is a partial view in side elevation with cutaway, showing the two conduits in their passage through the bundle of fins of the heater; Figure 2 is an end view of Figure 1, the two conduits having been shown in section; Figure 3 is a partial view on an enlarged scale showing in section

longitudinal along 3-3 of figure 2, the two conduits of the appliance, figure 4 is a section along 4-4 of figure 3 j figure 5 is a side elevation view showing the whole of the heating body of the apparatus according to this invention;
Figure 6 is a plan view of Figure 5, Figure 7 illustrates a variant of the invention in a view similar to Figure 2 and Figure 8 is a vertical sectional view on an enlarged scale of the two conduits of the apparatus in the variant according to which longitudinal fins are provided, the thickness of which is greater than that of the tubes.
Referring to the drawings, it can be seen that the heating apparatus according to the present invention comprises, in known manner, a first duct 10
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
for heating water from the central heating circuit and a second duct 12, for heating water for domestic use (domestic water). To improve the heat exchange between these two conduits, they are in intimate thermal contact in the upper part 14 of the heating device where the fin bundle of the exchanger of this heating device is positioned.
In the embodiment of the invention illustrated by FIGS. 1 to 6 in this upper part 14 of the heating appliance, the duct 10 ′ for the water from the central heating has a substantially oval section (in the example non-limiting embodiment illustrated by the drawing, this section is not a perfect oval, it is constituted by a curve comprising two semicircles connected by two flat parts) and the conduit 12 ′ of sanitary water has a circular section . The two conduits 10 ′ and 12 ′ are incorporated one into the other, the conduit 12 ′ being placed inside the conduit 10 ′, so as to be joined along one of the semicircular walls of the conduit 10 ', as can be seen in Figure 2.
According to the invention, the two conduits 10 ′ and 12 ′ are preferably welded to one another by their respective respective semi-circular parts.
According to the invention, in order to promote the heat exchanges between the two conduits 10 ′ and 12 ′, in their crossing of the bundle of fins of the heating apparatus, heat recovery fins 16 are provided, arranged inside. from the 10 'duct. heating water, so as to be in contact on the one hand, with this conduit 10 'and, on the other hand with the conduit 12' of sanitary water. In the nonlimiting exemplary embodiment illustrated by the drawing, the heat recovery fins are welded to the two ducts and they comprise a longitudinal partition 18, a circular portion 20, which is welded to the duct 12 and two lateral wings 22 , 22 '.
Figures 3 to 5 show how the tubes 10,12
EMI4.1
are connected to the corresponding conduits 10 ′ and 12 ′ at the inlet and at the outlet of the fin bundle. The 10 'conduit has parts
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
flared 24.24 ′, ensuring the positioning and connection by welding of circuits 10 ′ and 12 ′ on the inlet and outlet tubes.
In the second embodiment of the invention illustrated in FIG. 7, the domestic water pipe 12 "is arranged in the heating water pipe 10" so as to come into contact with the two side walls of this pipe 10 "on which it is optionally welded. Furthermore, two fins 24-24 'are then provided longitudinally in the duct 10" in order to further increase the heat exchanges.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, which is illustrated in FIG. 7, the heat recovery fins 24, 24 ′ which are arranged between the domestic water pipe 12 "and the heating water pipe 10 "have a thickness which is greater than that of the tubes so as to further improve the heat exchanges.
This preferred embodiment has characteristics which result from the following considerations: So that the domestic water circulating in the 12 "circuit is capable of evacuating all of the thermal power supplied by the burner of the heating installation without the water of the heating circuit 10 ", at rest, does not rise beyond 100 * C, it is necessary on the one hand that the exchange surface between the tube which constitutes the conduit 12" for sanitary water and the tube which constitutes the 10 "conduit for the heating water is important and on the other hand that the shape of the tube for the domestic water as well as its positioning in the tube of the heating water conduit allows a primer thermosiphon between the top and bottom of the tube constituting the conduit for the heating water.
However, these two points are delicate and expensive.
In order to return to simple geometries which make it possible to carry out an automatic assembly of the heat exchangers, the idea at the base of this preferred variant of the invention consists in releasing the constraints linked to the convection fields within the water of
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
heating at rest by transmitting part of the heat flow to the sanitary water, directly by conduction.
As can be seen in FIG. 7, this result is obtained in this variant by making the tube constituting the conduit 12 "for domestic water tangent laterally to the tube constituting the conduit 10" for the heating water. Under these conditions, to allow correct heat exchange between the fluids circulating in the various conduits, longitudinal fins 24 and 24 ", of relatively large thickness, are provided, which are interposed between the conduits 10" and 12 ", as shown in the Figure 7 so as to achieve a thermal bridge between the sanitary water and the fumes.
Preferably, the thickness to length ratio of the fins is equal to or greater than 8.8.
The device according to the present invention allows a perfect heat exchange between the fluids contained in these two conduits, thanks to a large contact surface between the conduits, obtained by means of their relative arrangement and due to the presence of the fins of recovery and characteristics of the latter. Thus, in the event of prolonged non-circulation of the water in one of the conduits, its temperature cannot exceed that of the moving water, the totality of the calories collected by the water not circulating, being transmitted to the circulating water.
The arrangement according to this invention also makes it possible, by stopping the circulation of water in one of the conduits, to obtain the total power developed by the heater in the other conduit. It also allows, by circulating the water in the two circuits, to distribute the total power of the appliance between the two circuits, according to the desired hot water flow rates.
It remains to be understood that this invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown but that it encompasses all variants thereof.
