(54) Title: A DECORATIVE TILE (57) Abstract A decorative tile made up of lines of J:fferent shapes, widths and thickness, the upperside of the lines being of a shape that is not flat and the underside of the lines are flat where the adhesive material is to contact. The protective backing sheet is of the shape of the reference rectangle extending to the outerlimits for contact The detachable alignment spacers are to ensure the required spacing between lines. The attachment is where a small light or reflector can be located. A message to a third party can be located at the required position.
See back of page -1- A decorative tile The invention relates to a decorative tile designed to give yet another alternative to the solid conventional tile.
The design of the tile is based on the idea that within a decorative tile, the lines that create the geometric pattern or picture design on the whole solid tile are themselves the main and important factor in giving the tile that decorative look.
It is these lines that are extracted to form the main component of the tile, where as the non-decorative, plain areas of the tile are removed. For example, in the simple use of a solid rectangular tile that has a grid pattern design, the rectangular area between the grid is disregarded, with the main decorative factor of the grid lines becoming the body of the tile to create a grid line tile.
In the design of the tile, one of the aims is to eliminate wide straight edges and to have a minimum of outer limits for contact with other tiles having matching contact point locations to minimize the breaks in the continuity of a geometric pattern, text or simple picture tiling showing little or no apparent gaps which is more apparent with conventional tiles when using grout.
The tile is made of lines with alignment spacers to maintain the require space between lines formed together from flexible materials with the upper side of the lines not being of a flat shape and can be affixed to glass, mirror, plastic; as it is of a see through nature and permits visibility. The under side of the lines is flat and support the pressure sensitive adhesive and backing sheet.
There are areas for attachments of small lights or reflectors that can be used for decorative effects in the dark.
The tile can be affixed to walls, ceilings, wooden or metal panels and other surfaces, flat or curved to produce a textured or contoured effect for decorative purposes.

-2- One way of carrying out the invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a decorative tile in accordance with the invention showing the lines that may be of the same or different shapes which form the main component of the decorative tile.
Figure 2 shows a side view of the tile indicating the shape of the lines and thickness and also the backing sheet to the flat side of the tile.
Figure 3 shows the decorative tile connected to other similar tiles with matching outer limits for contact to produce a picture design of a larger area, displaying little or no apparent interruption in its creation.
The figures show a tile made up of lines that may be of same or different shapes, with alignment spacer lines that keeps the lines at the desired spacings. The main component of the tile supports the pressure sensitive adhesive with a backing sheet of a shape that totally covers the tile on the flat side. In accordance with the invention the tiles are shown connected to similar tiles with matching outer limits for contact to produce a larger tiled area displaying little or no apparent interruption in its make-up.
