Abstract

The self adhesive labels (2) are supplied on a backing strip fed over a dispensing edge (3). They are taken off the dispenser by a vacuum pad (4) which is raised to partially overlap the dispensing edge and take off the label through vacuum force. The pad is lowered and then moved past the dispensing edge to apply to the container. The two coordinate movement of the vacuum pad prevents labels falling from the edge eg. free fall transfer. The labels are applied to the container which is then processed to secure the label.
