Abstract

The device has an internal braking device in the engine and an engine braking flap (2) in an exhaust gas line (1), a control motor for the flap and a pressure sensor (9) upstream of the flap in the exhaust gas line. Sensor signals are fed via the control unit (8) to an electronic regulating unit (13) that regulates operation of the control unit and engine using stored characteristic fields and operating data.
