Abstract

The control device has at least one memory unit for holding engine characteristic fields. The memory is addressed by required operating parameters, providing the control values for the electronic fuel injection system for the engine or regulating the quantity of fuel injected. The control device receives signals from at least one vehicle velocity sensor, for limiting the maximum engine load in dependence on the detected velocity.
