ExcentrischerBohrmeissel.

Eccentric drill bit.
The subject of the present invention forms an eccentric drill bit, which is characterized in that both the pre-drilling and post-drilling cutting edges, but the latter to a lesser extent, are not arranged horizontally but inclined to the horizontal, whereby the effect is achieved that the diameter the borehole is larger than the width of the drill, resp. it is possible to use chisels with a smaller width when achieving the same bore hole widths.
1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings show a drill constructed in accordance with the invention in two mutually perpendicular views (in FIG. 1 during work), while FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 show a perspective and two orthogonal views of one in the sense The invention constructed chisels with side jaws.

in that both the Y or dio Nachbohrschnsido a, b is inclined to the horizontal, but the inclination of the Vorbohrschneide a is considerably greater than that of the Nachbohrschneide b.
The effect of a drill bit constructed in this way is that, as can be seen from FIG. 1, when it hits the

to slides off, acts like a plow on the parts p of the bottom of the borehole lying against the wall of the borehole and removes them. The reaming cutter b also acts in the same way, so that, as can be easily seen, the drill hole has a diameter that exceeds the width of the drill.
By sliding down the drill bit a on the base of the borehole, the ring-shaped part p of the base of the borehole lying against the wall of the borehole is not machined by a percussion but by a kind of explosive or plow-like effect of the drill bit c, which forms a physical corner, whereby the borehole becomes uniform It has a shape and a larger diameter than when using ordinary drills, a circumstance which makes it easier for the pipes to sink.
The end d of the pilot cutting edge remote from the tip is rounded off and

In FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, a drill constructed in the sense of the invention and provided with jaws is shown, which in a manner analogous to that described earlier
