Bung wrench for iron barrels or the like.
The invention relates to an improvement and further development of the bung wrench according to patent no. 147752. It has been shown in practice that in the case of the key protected by said patent, due to the often high stress on the eccentrically and rotatably mounted toothed wheel, on the one hand a misalignment or The same can step out of its plane of rotation, which of course impairs the function of the key, on the other hand, the toothed wheel is only worn at one point.
In order to remedy these disadvantages, according to the invention, the arrangement is made such that the eccentric and rotatably mounted toothed wheel is overlapped by a cranked metal part welded onto the flat iron in such a way that the toothed wheel is prevented from tilting with respect to its plane of rotation, and wherein the fastening bolt for the toothed wheel is inserted through a guide hole of the cranked part. Furthermore, the toothed wheel has several bolt holes of different eccentricity in order to be able to adjust the wheel for bungs of different sizes. Such a replacement can also take place if the toothed wheel is too worn out at one point.
As already indicated in the drawing of the main patent, metal pieces can be welded to the side surfaces of the free ends of the flat iron, which are designed depending on the shape of the recesses of the various bungs (square, clover-like, etc.). This results in a versatile bung wrench.
The invention is explained in more detail in the drawing. 1 and 2 show the subject matter of the invention in top and side views, FIG. 3 shows a metal piece 6 welded to the flat iron, which is designed in the shape of a clover leaf corresponding to the bung to be used, and FIG. 4 shows the toothed wheel with the eccentrically arranged guide holes. As can be seen, the cranked metal part J! at 2 welded to the flat iron and partially engages over the toothed wheel 7, which is fastened by the screw-on pivot pin 3 which can be screwed into the flat iron and inserted through the guide hole of the cranked part. 4 and 5 are other shapes of the welded parts.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Bung wrench consisting of a flat iron for iron barrels or the like according to patent no. 147752, characterized in that the eccentrically and rotatably mounted and toothed wheel (7) arranged on the flat iron is supported by a cranked metal part (1 ) is overlapped in such a way that inclination of the toothed wheel with respect to its plane of rotation is prevented, and the fastening bolt (3) for the toothed wheel is inserted through a guide hole in the cranked part.
