Direction indicators for bicycles and motorcycles.
The invention relates to a direction indicator for bicycles and motorcycles, which is arranged on the rear fender and can be actuated by means of a switch from the handlebar. The invention aims to provide such a direction indicator with a reflector,
To unite the stop light or the like structurally. This is done according to the invention in that the bottom
End of the rear fender arranged indicator housing opposite the axis of rotation of the pointer as a capsule for receiving a reflector, stop light or the like. Is formed. The direction indicator and stop light therefore form a structural unit that can be mounted on the bike as a whole and removed from it again.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. 1 shows the arrangement of the direction indicator according to the invention on a bicycle. 2 and 3 illustrate the switch in longitudinal section and in side view. FIG. 4 shows the direction indicator in side view with the housing drawn in section, FIG. 5 is a section along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
A switch 2 is fastened to the handlebar 1 by means of a pipe clamp 3 or the like and is provided with a switching lever 4 which can be adjusted by 900 in two directions. The lever 4 is seated on a disk 5, which can be rotated around a bolt 7 in a housing 6 and is fixed in the vertical central position by a snap spring 8.
The winker arm 9 can be pivoted around a bolt 11 in a housing 10 and is screwed tightly to the lower end of the rear fender 12 by means of the offset bolt end 11 ′ provided with a thread. Opposite the axis of rotation of the winker arm 9, the housing 10 is a capsule. M 'formed, which is used to accommodate a reflector M, stop light or the like. Shift lever 4 and winker arm 9 are necessarily connected to one another by Bowden cables 14. If the switching lever 4 is moved from the normal central position by 900 to the right or left, the winker arm 9 is also swung out of the vertical position, which is covered by the housing 10 to the outside, by 900 to the right or left.
An incandescent lamp, not shown in the drawing, is built into the winker and is fed by a pocket lamp battery or dynamo. The circuit is made in such a way that the current is switched on automatically when the direction indicator is pivoted by two thirds from its rest position and is automatically switched off before the direction indicator returns to the normal position.
