Circuit for amplifying electrical vibrations.
The invention relates to a four-electrode tube with a grid serving to control the electron flow and two parts arranged one behind the other in the beam path and with a perforated conductor arranged between them, the parts of the auxiliary electrode and the perforated conductor arranged between them being arranged on both sides of the cathode and the similar elements are formed with common leads. Such a tube has a corresponding steepness and a sufficiently large anode current, with it and with the circuit
EMI1.1
are.
The circuit of the electron tube according to the above arrangement is accomplished according to the invention in such a way that the potential of the voltage network during operation should be constantly positive in relation to the cathode and independent of the amplified vibrations; consequently the value of the anode potential is different from the potential of the voltage network. The circuit of the remaining electrodes of the tube corresponds to the usual circuit of the three-electrode tubes.
It has been found that a constant potential, independent of the amplified oscillations, can advantageously be imposed on the voltage network if the same is connected to a point in the anode circuit, the potential of which is constant from the anode battery or from another anode power source. Accordingly, the voltage network is applied to that terminal of the inductive resistor located in the anode circuit, e.g. B. loudspeaker, which is more distant from the anode, switched. The inductive resistance lies between the voltage network and the anode.
The fact that the tube according to the invention in the above circuit has a straight, i.e. distortion-free dynamic characteristic over a long distance, even with a high internal resistance and also with a small anode reaction, has not yet been completely clarified in theory. However, the tests have proven that the four-electrode tube according to the invention is also perfectly suitable as a power amplifier tube in the circuit according to the invention.
The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, for example: FIG. 1 is a sketch of the circuit according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows the characteristics of this tube when it is used in the circuit according to the invention.
In Fig. 1, the tube is shown only schematically for the sake of clarity and with the omission of a part of the brackets. The cathode 2, which consists of a multiple tensioned filament and is provided with leads 7 and 7a, is surrounded by the inner part 3 of the grid, which is drawn with broken lines. This grid part 3 is surrounded by the outer grid part 3a and the two parts are electrically connected to one another by conductors drawn with curved full lines and connected through the inner grid part 3 to the common grid feed 8. Between the two parts 3 and 3a of the grid is the voltage network 4 connected to the feed 9; and all of these are surrounded by the anode 5 which is provided with the feed 6.
It can be seen that in this embodiment, the surface of the voltage network 4 is geometrically similar to the grid surface 3 a in that both have the shape of the jacket of a prism. In Fig. 1, the circuit of the tube is shown as a power amplifier. The terminals to which the voltage to be amplified is connected are designated with 1 and those at which the amplified voltage occurs (in the present case via an output transformer) are designated with 11.

The current and voltage sources feeding the arrangement, on the other hand, are not specifically illustrated for the sake of simplicity, but only the letters written next to the terminals indicate which voltage or voltage sources are used. Power sources and the polarity with which they must be switched on. It can be seen that the voltage network d is connected to that terminal of the self-induction which is further away from the anode.
The dynamic characteristics according to FIG. 2, which are recorded at different anode voltages, are completely straight over long stretches and thus show that the tube in the above circuit is perfectly suitable for distortion-free reception.
