Description

Circuit for amplifying direct or alternating currents by means of Cascade-connected discharge tubes The invention relates to a further embodiment the circuit for amplifying direct or alternating currents by means of discharge tubes according to patent 514,484 and relates in particular to that embodiment the circuit in which the branch points of the individual voltages are placed that the grid biases caused by the anode circuit in whole or in part be compensated. It is already known the connection of the anode of the first Tube an amplifier assembly with the power source across the resistor grid filament the second tube to lead. According to the invention it has been shown that the reinforcing effect in this circuit, the greater the resistance that is between the grid of the second tube and the branch leading to it is laid. Takes if this resistance is almost infinitely large, the reinforcing effect becomes approximately a maximum. Another advantage of this arrangement is that the The magnitude of the amplifying effect depends to a large extent on the heating current of the first tube becomes independent, so that even with a low heating current a large amplifying effect occurs.

The drawing shows the circuit according to the invention in one embodiment. The anode voltages of the two tubes 2 and 3 are variable from the potentiometer i removed. The grid 4 of the tube 2 is preceded by an oscillation circuit 5, the is applied to the potentiometer i. The anode 7 of the tube 2 is connected to the grid 9 connected to the tube 3, while the anode i i of the tube 3 via a consumption resistor 12 of any kind is connected to the potentiometer i. The filaments 13 and 14 of the two tubes 2 and 3 can also be changed to the potentiometer i be connected. Between the grid 9 and the potentiometer is an almost infinite high resistance 8 switched, which is indicated by dashed lines in the drawing. This high resistance can be obtained by connecting the grid 9 with the potentiometer is avoided at all and which the grid against the cathode insulating parts serve as resistance.

As has been shown, the basic idea can then also be realized if no potentiometer is used, only precaution has to be taken, that the cathode of the first tube is negative against the cathode of the second tube behaves.

The circuit according to the invention can also be used with more than two tubes be appropriately applied.
