Abstract

La presente solicitud se refiere a un procedimiento para preparar éster succinato a partir de una sal de ácido succínico presente en un caldo de fermentación. En la primera etapa, se utilizan recursos renovables de carbono para producir ácido succínico en la forma de una sal de ácido succínico mediante fermentación biológica. La sal de ácido succínico presente en el caldo de fermentación es sometida a reacción de doble desplazamiento con un ácido fuerte conduciendo a la liberación de ácido succínico. El ácido succínico es recuperado mediante cristalización fraccionada integrada con una etapa de lavado con alcohol y sometido a reacción de esterificación para producir éster succinato el cual es purificado mediante destilación fraccionada. El éster succinato así obtenido es convertido en 1,4-butanodiol, g-butirolactona y tetrahidrofurano mediante reacciones de hidrogenación. El éster succinato puede también ser hidrolizado para producir ácido succínico de elevada pureza.
