Abstract
Se revelan composiciones y métodos que preservan y mejoran el brillo de la pulpa, y además, mejoran el color de la pulpa o del papel, cuando se aplican durante diferentes etapas de un proceso de fabricación de papel. Las composiciones y los métodos mantienen o mejoran el brillo, evitan el amarillamiento, y mejoran el desempeño de los productos de papel. Las composiciones pueden incluir una mezcla de agentes reductores, y además, pueden incluir abrillantadores ópticos, quelantes, policarboxilatos, u otros aditivos. La mezcla de agentes reductores puede incluir un borohidruro, tal como borohidruro de sodio, y cualquier otro agente reductor, tal como un sulfito o bisulfito.
