Abstract
Composiciones y métodos para dirigir polipéptidos a los cloroplastos de plantas superiores. Las composiciones incluyen casetes de expresion que tienen una secuencia de nucleotidos que codifica un péptido dirigido al cloroplasto (CTP) que se liga en forma operativa a una secuencia de nucleotidos de interés, en donde el CTP es derivado de Chlamydomonas sp. Los vectores de transformacion de plantas, plantas y células vegetales que tienen las secuencias de CTP también están comprendidos, así como también las variantes y fragmentes de las secuencias de CTP. También se proveen métodos para expresar una secuencia de nucleotidos heterologa en una planta usando las secuencias de CTP reveladas en la presente.
